PHUKET--: Weerawit Kreuasombat, President of the Patong Entertainment Business Association (PEBA), has estimated that the forced 14-day shutdown of entertainment venues in Patong to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus is costing the island an estimated B100 million a day in lost revenues.

The shutdown, announced by Phuket Governor Phakaphong Tavipatana late Tuesday night, come into effect yesterday, leaving the usually busy Bangla Rd shrouded in darkness.

“PEBA members will meet up later to discuss this order because being closed for 14 days is affecting a wide range of tourism-related businesses,” Mr Weerawit told The Phuket News.

As always, as every day..... Money first! ????

its understandable as preb k and his fellow landowners not gonna cut the rent

if people can not pay move out no problem he can sell a new lease to someone else for double the lost rent

so not as easy as you think

but now it really shows, must have elected governor ,he have to go, he stands same you, dont care about the people ,which wotes he would never get

i dont mean the closedown is the problem but the governor could stop all rent and all bankloan so everyone share

our workers dont pay a bath of what they borrowed from us until this is over and no interest either

nobody should win here but the governor and the landowners and finally the banks does ,so good point if that was what you ment
