I am about go meet my uncle down south to Pak Chong (Korat) to be added to his blue tabian baan and am wondering what types of (2) Thai witnesses are required and what should they expect when being interviewed? Thanks

If you're Thai, why don't you ask your family how to do it?

I am a permanent resident for many years and moved into another province two years ago. I went, all by myself, to the local city administration with the person shown as "head of household" who is shown on page 2 (page 1 shows the address only).

I also presented the old house register (ทะเบียนบ้าน); the whole process took five minutes and out we were.

I hence assume that, with your original Thai birth certificate and previous ID card, you go and see the city administration/city hall in Pakchong - in the company of the house register head (assumingly your uncle). No sweat, and I never heard of anything like witnesses. If not necessary for a alien with a PR status you can take it to the bank, that as Thai you will not need it either!

I'm not sure what is required for a Thai citizen for a Blue House Book, but for a foreigner in a Yellow House Book, it's general the two witnesses. They shall be a neighbor, or close living person knowing you well, and a government employee that knows you. But it might be different from province to province, what is requested, so you need to check with the local tessa ban (village/town district office) exactly what is needed of paperwork and witnesses in your case.

Normally for Thais it's a simple procedure, when they have an ID-card.
