The real burning question everywhere right now is, how many asymptomatic, possibly infectious cases are there? It could be a lot in the younger generations. If that's the case, we might be deeper into the pandemic than tought, which is both good and bad. Good in that herd immunity might be acquired earlier, bad in that there would be carriers everywhere.

Only widespread random testing of general population would give a clue what the real situation is. This Lancet paper does hint at these "hidden cases": https://www.thelancet.com/journals/laninf/article/PIIS1473-3099(20)30243-7/fulltext#

The USA isn't the greatest nation on earth to start with.

The OP puts up a title about "the greatest nation on earth" then when you read the article it refers to America. What the hell? lol....unless it's an April Fool's joke by the OP to refer to that joke of a country as "great".

The person who wrote that headline should be careful of telling porkies.

I am glad it is a question that has been posed, rather than a statement , becuase the appalling numbers, lack of PEP, personel, does not bode well for USA, especially since the head of the taskforce Krushner is missing in non action.

Given the taskforce head canvassed his sister in laws father via facebook for solutions, seems like POTUS is another case of lame duck.

IMO the USA is going to have problems similar to Italy and Spain, due to their mindset of personal freedoms, and their medical care system.

The one thing they have on their side is their logistical ability, and they will need every bit of it.
