The first death in Pattani province from Covid-19 was reported on Wednesday (April 1) by the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration.

The patient was 77 years old, who got infected with Covid-19 after touching his son who had previously returned from a religious ceremony in Malaysia.

The old man also had severe diabetes, emphysema, and chronic pneumonia. He was treated at Yarang Hospital on March 20, before being sent to Pattani Hospital where he died on Wednesday at 4am.

His body was managed in line with medical principles, in order to prevent Covid-19 risk. Also, his relatives were prohibited from visiting, kissing or touching the body.

The body was then buried in the graveyard in line with Islamic practices. It was the fourth death in the deep South. There are 44 Covid-19 cases in the province, according to the recent report.

On March 31, Yala province reported its second Covid-19 death. The patient had been undergoing hospital treatment since March 23.

Well, that might explain why he died. It seems like every death is being blamed on Corona virus. Talking about inflated numbers...
