Along the same lines as the BCG news, there is hope that the oral polio vaccine (OPV) could also give some benefit in warding off coronavirus infection.

That's stated in the video. Dr Gallo says near the end of the interview that this is just a proposal, and they need to start collecting data and doing trials to evaluate this. He also mentions that Konstantin Chumakov has already brought this to his bosses in the FDA to get a trial started but they are still waiting for a committee to review it.

 

However, as he also says, there is already some data to support this theory, which can be found in Russian medical literature dating all the way back to the 70's.

So it sounds like any protection comes from the temporary stimulation of the immune system by the living polio vaccine, nothing to do with the long term immunity developed against polio.
