My friends (swedish) Non Immigrant "0" expires 24th june, and his permission to stay ends 15th may 2020....

Can I ask you guys;

a - Will his permission to stay extends to 30th of april automaticly??

b-   He is looking for to apply for a extension of stay based on retirement, is this doable during these automatic "extensions"???

Thank you so much for your answers.

a. Not important since he can already stay until May 15th.

b. He could apply for his extension now if he has the required financial proof.

He would have to ask his local immigration office about applying after May15th since the emergency decree will certainly be extended beyond the 30th. It is a grey area as to whether the exemption for a valid permit to stay would be considered as a non-o visa.

In a similar situation, but with slightly different dates….
What would be best to do in case Non-O-visa is expiring on June9th and Permission to Stay is only until May2nd?
Just hope that the Emergency Decree is indeed being extended after April30th & then work on Extension of Stay (Non-O / Thai wife) sometime in May?
Or…?

How many days/weeks ahead of the Visa-expiring-date can one go to Immigration & apply for Extension of Stay?

You have the option to apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife to to get more time to get ready to apply for a one year extension based upon marriage to a Thai near the end of it.

You can apply for the one year extension up to 30 days early or 45 days at some offices.

90 day on multi entry O marriage needs a visa run beginning first week of June, assuming every thing same. would it be possible to go the immigration post with Laos  exit and turn round and reenter without going across to obtain new 90 day? If go to local immigration office to obtain extension for 60 days would that not effect visa length? plus cost 1900?

You would not be allowed to depart Thailand if the Lao side of the border was closed. You have to be able to enter Laos and return. They check for the stamps for Laos when you try to enter Thailand.

Getting a 60 day extension to visit your wife has no effect on your visa in anyway. The fee is 1900 baht.

1 - When the borders are open again, and the validity date of your 1-year MultipleEntry Non Imm O - marriage Visa has not expired, you will on entering Thailand receive once again a 90-day permission to stay stamped in your passport.

2 - When your present permission to stay has not expired yet, you can apply for a 60-day extension for reason of visiting your wife.  Any extension costs 1.900 THB.

Thanks for the helpful info.

As mentioned, am here on a Non-O-visa (issued in Ho Cho Minh) expiring on June9th and Permission to Stay (90 days) is until May2nd.

Now with the Emergency Decree being extended until July 31st, is my understanding correct that:

1-) Until end-July, I don't need to worried about being in the country for more than 90 days. Correct?

2-) I can apply for my Extension of Stay towards the end of July? Or....?

3-) Can that Extension of Stay be for one year (with the correct paperwork obviously)?

Just to be sure & clear....

Thanks in advance to anyone who can advise!

1. No problem to stay longer than 90 days in the country.

2. Yes

3. Yes if you can meet the financial requirement and etc.

Hello,

So firstly l apologize as l for asking, but I have spent all morning reading several different threads and have become confused.

I have the Non O without showing financials(5,000Thb) based on Thai wife issued in Sawannakhet. It is dated until 5th Aug 2020.

My confusion is the my 90 border run is due next week which I normally go to Ban Phu Nam Ron in Kanchanaburi.

Do l just postpone this border run until 31st July?

Or do l report to Chaengwattana?

Thank you for your time.

You're OK until 31st July.

But they'll probably move that date further away.

Or they're expecting that the borders will reopen before 31 July, so people can do their border runs or leave Thailand and there will be no need for a further amnesty.

I think the situation will last far longer than the sheeple have ever imagined.

It started with a month and everyone saying 'back to normal in May'

Now they've added another 3 months, and those same people are saying 'back to normal in August'

I wouldn't be surprised if another 6 months was added near the end of July.

Your suggesting land borders still closed come July 31.

Mine originally runs out on 16th June, I'm hoping for another 3-6 months lock-down at the end of July.

I reckon the chances are about 50/50.

Its just wait and see. At least no border run necessary in the mean time.
