As a retiree, every year I have to fill in a "Life Attest", confirming that I'm still alive and have it signed by a relevant Thai authority to two different countries I used to work in, to make sure to continue receiving my monthly pensions. Today I went to the post office to send the attest for my pension from Switzerland. I usually send the envelope via registered Express. Well, there the problem started.

It will take at least three months to reach Switzerland, I was told.

??

Yes, there is no Air Mail anymore.

Well, I understand that there might be only a few passenger flights out of Thailand, but Thai still flies daily to Zurich and Munich (average Thais don't know this fact).

No. No air mail.

Well, how about cargo flights?

No air mail, Sir.

For how long?

We don't know.

Very well then, I'll take the envelope back home. I don't want it to be sent via ca maritime vessel.

So, now you know it. For clarification I was shown the letter I attach.

Makes absolutely no sense at all...amazing Thailand!

Received a letter from German pension payment on April 16 sent via ordinary priority/airmail (postman put in the box).

Letter dated March 24. A bit long but sure not sailing the oceans.

So why is it not possible the other direction. Really strange.

This has been posted on the forum for some time.

If it's urgent you will have to use DHL or FedEx.

How do DHL or FedEx transport mail? Are their own planes still flying?

What about international by Kerry Express, I just received packages from the UK, delivered by them.

Delivered by doesnt always mean sent by, so, sent by who ?

A company called Pearlfeet, It was a thought I had, but if not I at least tried to give a suggestion I thought might work.  The actual company that mailed them was WOFUN COMPANY LIMITED 16 St Martin's Le Grand St Paul's, London, Greater London, United Kingdom, EC1A 4EN

What is the deadline for the document to arrive before they suspend payment?

So China, the origin of COVID-19, gets a free pass on letters and parcels. I guess that nails down whose pocket the Thais are in.

Dario,

I do not know where you are. But in Pattaya, I use Swiss Law to sign my AHV letter and they take it to the Swiss Embassy from where it goes via diplomatic mail to CH. Costs 500 B but it’s convenient and safe.
