Fargo by the Coen brothers is a great movie.

But actually the 3 TV-series with the same name (also by the Coen brothers) is even better.

Especially the first series, with Martin Freeman as the loser and the chilling performance by Billy Bob Thornton as the deranged killer.  Series 2 and 3 are also must-sees, if it's from the Coen brothers you cannot go wrong.

Agree with all of them, and add Electra Glide in Blue- a western on motorbikes. Wild Bunch for gore in slow motion.

I just watched Elizabethtown again last night. Apart from the rather depressing start it's a great romantic movie, and Kirsten Dunst really makes it for me- one of my favourite actresses.

The critics savaged it, but audiences disagreed with them. Well made with an excellent cast and a marvellous sound track. Well worth the time IMO.

Not a single boom boom movie in your lists ( not mine either, by the way ), not even Basic Instinct ...:cheesy:

The giraffe with a larynx problem is a somewhat cryptic reference to one of the most famous Boom-Boom movies ever made... ????

If not for sex starved western men, Basic Instinct wouldn't rate a mention.

You forgot Pumping Irene.

I discovered a DVD of Elizabethtown in a second hand store and I'm lovin it. A bit twee at times and the start is a bit strange, but has a very attractive heroine and a fantastic sound track. What's not to like?

Haven't been to a cinema in 6 months thanks to corona lockdown restrictions, so not up with any new movies.

Leaving Las Vegas, American History X and a few more that have already been mentioned. Always enjoyed The Sting as well. Could also say Quadrophenia (provided sympathy for my teenage angst).

Have watched that a few times and am still a great fan........different and does "offer" a different perspective on events that "we" take as gospel (sorry about the pun).
