Phuket’s new Covid-19 cases today (Monday)

There has been one new case announced in the southern island of Phuket today at the daily briefings.

 

Case number 207 is a 66 year old Thai women. Her occupation is a maid and had a history of close contact with workers in the same house as confirmed case number 204. She lives in Bang Tao, Cherngtalay, and is showing no symptoms. 3 other people at potential of high risk of catching the infection.

 

There has also been one more death announced today. 3 other patients are considered in critical condition at this stage.

 

36 more people are waiting for results. 7 more people have recovered and been released from hospital, making the total of recovered patients in Phuket 168.

So before 11 am they are giving the days tally of new infections , will they do updates as the day progresses ?

Phuket suffers first COVID-19 death

Phuket officials today marked the island’s first death directly related to COVID-19. Image: PR Dept

 

PHUKET: Phuket has suffered its first officially recognised death directly related to COVID-19, the Phuket Communicable Disease Committee marked in a report issued this morning (Apr 27).

 

The death was of one of the four people in hospital suffering from severe symptoms of the disease, noted the report.

 

No other details were made available. More details are expected to be announced this afternoon.

One new case on island of 450,000 people, not a death , just sick.  1M Thais journeyed back to village, closing thousands of establishments and possibly ruined local economy. Bizarre!

During this same time frame, how many people died of a heart attack, cancer, car accident, etc.?

More have probably died from washing machine accidents....
