How the corona-virus crisis will shape the world ?

Our lives will be significantly changed for at least 3 years.

The "economy" as we know it will be in turmoil for longer.

You lot have bit,,,d & grizzled about your "freedom" & "the figures cannot be close"

But they are not far from the truth when it comes to deaths which are impossible

to "hide",

Thailand from yesterday

Thousands of people allowed off Phuket Island without testing                 1st mistake

Domestic Airlines operating from today with temp check only (useless)    2nd mistake

Booze available from tomorrow I agree with but only takeaway.

Anyone caught drinking in public should be prosecuted. (But where are the BIB)  holiday?

Test 1. Opening of land borders

Test 2 International inward air travel

Can Thailand avoid these bullets ? I think not

We may be the masked men for 12 months yet

The knock-on effect of so much money washing around is that the purchasing power of that money drops over time.  This is called inflation, with too much money chasing too few goods.  Look back to any point in time in the past and see what one could buy with, say, $100, compared to now.  The same will be true in the future.

and the middle class who worked all their lives to try to save for a comfortable retirement,

well,  they are screwed .    Especially in that beacon of freedom with the highest cost of health

care....  you know which country

What about a little injection?

It's nothing to worry about...

Another conspiracy theorist, to be expected on TV.

Fact Check:

The Gates Foundation did not predict 65 million deaths from a pandemic.

A Gates Foundation-sponsored vaccine did not paralyse 500,000 children

India is not suing the Gates Foundation.

The Gates Foundation does not own any vaccine patents, or a "patent 666" for microchips.

This thread started off with sensible discussion. Goodbye.

Countries like Thailand, Italy, Spain France and many others, including African and Asian countries, may have up to 20% of the population employed in the tourism industry.

Now all unemployed, and for how long nobody knows.

Wonder what will they do with them, what will be the jobs that our leaders will invent for them.

Exactly, they have said workers on furlough in the UK can pick fruit and veg, that's because the vast majority of furloughed workers will be unemployed soon. Also with the UK, the eastern Europeans workers are not arriving this year in large numbers to pick the fruit and veg, so if you don't pick the fruit/veg then no benefit money.

Anyway I'm for a walk around my desolate high street, stroll past the closed pubs and restaurants, so sad!

1. Firstly the emerging power of the right will get even stronger as people around the globe blame immigrants, the other, the foreigner and the outsider for bringing in the virus. Far right parties like the AfD, the Italian League, Vox in Spain, Le Pen etc will get more votes. This in turn will strengthen far leftist parties, which have also seen a resurgence. Political extremism will increase further. Established parties will struggle and perhaps be relegated to the sidelines.

2. Taxation will increase to pay for the massive bailouts and increased spending on healthcare systems to prepare for the next pandemic. Social benefits like the Dole and pensions will be cut back as more money goes on strengthening healthcare.

3. Consolidation of airlines will mean less airlines, less competition and thus higher prices, though we will see many cheap offers to lure tourists back initially.

4. Airline travel will be wearing a mask, possibly with immunity certificate.

5. There will be an increase in saving as people try to prepare for the next pandemic, so spending will decrease, also because of higher taxation. Return on assets will be lower than before. Less places to invest money. People will be extra careful with money.

6. The hoarding of food will increase, more people will become US style "preppers", sales of freezers will increase, also canned goods and other 'prepper' items.

7. One would think that initially women will be less likely to agree to one-night stands, but we saw with the HIV pandemic, that this is a short term effect. There will be little effect on gender relations.

8. There will be less money for research on other diseases that are not virus related. Medical resources will be greatly concentrated on viral infections.

9. The quality of the entertainment industry will decrease sharply, and the golden age of television series and comedy will end, as people can no longer attend mass events like festivals, theater or musical events, in the same numbers. Less money will mean less talent. Possibly Amazon and Netflix could rise in importance as producers of material.

10. The services sector of the economy will lose importance, and the manufacturing sector will increase its share as countries try to avoid being caught without vital supplies in future pandemics.

On point one think they,'ll be a clamp down on previous policies of economic migration, and a swing to the right wing (as previously stated) how deep this will go is anyone's guess, there will be a lot of civil unrest too as enforced austerity and unemployment bites.

Well, it's an unprecedented thing, especially should they make it mandatory.

If mandatory, let's hope that the West, the most likely producer of a vaccine, will give priority to its citizens.

That will give us time, in Thailand, to see if there are no nasty side effects...

What you describe can be summed up in one word: collapse.

I have been thinking for many years that we are heading to a new Middle Age.

That is, a very long period of stagnation, during which a lot of knowledge is lost, the world is divided in ever smaller entities, conflicts constantly erupt here and there, all the wealth is concentrated in very few hands, the populace is kept under control by constant surveillance and debt, science is rejected and replaced by dogma (think PC for example).

All this was already well under way before the pandemic, which will only accelerate the process, but is not the cause of it.

Agree in general, the middle class may disappear, and that would probably mean the end of the free speech.

I think if a vaccine is found and we get imunised ,things will eventually just go on as they always have ,

There is no possibility to make a vaccine. Remember it is a CORONA Virus and the disease is on the cellular immune level.

I was supposed to go to Italy before the summer, now i'm rubbing my 2 neurons and wondering what to do.

Possibly, as some say, there could be a few nano-chips in the vaccine, with some water and a couple drops of leach, as per suggestion of a famous leader.

Yes, they banned David Icke on Friday from Facebook, but Rose/Icke 3 is on Londonreal website from 5pm Sunday BST.

Meanwhile, on Italian MSM they're already talking about banning the cash, and (the horror) the possibility to separate children from families, for their own good, of course.

It starts to look like a horror movie.

Lets hope and pray that we have learned , that China has developed a virus ,

that  has deleted democracy , and now controls the world .

No second phase necessary , we have learned , and bow our heads .
