Grab food (maybe scam / maybe ignorance)

Featured Replies

I now because of the virus use grab food more often. My grab food is connected to my local thai debit card and so money gets deducted automatically. Now a few times delivery guys have tried to get money from me. Now I wonder is that a genuine mistake on their part of a scam to get the stupid farang to pay more.

The thing is the moment i say i paid already they never seem to check anything or put up any resistance. Are these guys inexperienced new riders or is it just a scam. I wonder what other members think.

And the opposite happened to me yesterday and the week before. Since it is a one click order if your credit card details are already keyed in from the previous purchase, i forgot and tried to pay again by cash when taking delivery. And both times i was reminded that there was no cash on delivery required.

I would suspect user error rather than a deliberate attempt.

I am not sure, I would be more convinced if they would struggle a bit more or check their app instead of giving up right away. That is just the part that makes me suspicious.

Dont get me wrong i love grab and I am not the kind that looks for a scam everywhere.
