Vendors warned against selling alcohol before scheduled time

BANGKOK(NNT)-Dr. Niphon Chinanonwet, Director of the Office of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, at the Ministry of Public Health, said a large number of people, both the general public and small business owners, had flocked to buy alcohol at large wholesale outlets after the restriction on the sale of take-out liquor was eased for the first day.

Confusion when Pattaya alcohol sales resumed

Nationally, the licensed hours for selling alcohol are 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

 

The city’s supermarkets and mama and papa stores are back big-time in the business of selling booze. The major outlets reported brisk sales May 3 after a three week lockdown on beer, wines and spirits, but locally there was no sign of panic buying.

The leaders of Pattaya’s farang-orientated leisure pursuits are wrestling with the future of their chosen activity.When the pubs eventually reopen, it’s not all going to be plain sailing simply to resume where everyone left off in March.
