Pattani set to ease lockdown after 14 days without Covid-19 cases

Pattani has got the nod from the province’s Communicable Disease Committee to ease lockdown measures, as the Covid-19 situation has gradually improved, Governor Kraisorn Wisitwong said on Tuesday (May 5).

Cabinet okays 20 per cent off on water bills, metropolitan users get free use of first 10 cubic metres

The Cabinet has approved proposals by the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) and Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) to help ease the people’s burden during the Covid-19 situation by providing 20 discount on water bills until the end of June, Deputy Government Spokeswoman Rachada Thanadirek said on Tuesday (May 5).

A video from southern Thailand showed public health officials at checkpoints ordering people riding motorcycles and driving cars to do 20 press-ups or jumping jacks for not wearing masks.

Australian hotel GM, 69, Phuket’s third death from COVID-19

Only one new Covid-19 case was reported while one patient died over a 24-hour period, Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said on Wednesday (May 6).

Bangkok Airways cuts fares for medical staff

Bangkok Airways is offering medical staff a 20-percent reduction on fares for domestic travel. The offer covers ordinary and promotional fares for all routes within Thailand and is available to doctors, nurses and medical technicians.

Thai food and electronic exports buck the trend amid global Covid-19 crisis

Demand for food and electronic devices during the lockdown saw Thai exports growing by 0.91 per cent in the first quarter compared to the same period last year, but overall exports are expected to contract 8 per cent year on year.

(Reuters) - A trooper stopping a car with a suspected "impaired driver" on a U.S. highway on Monday was bemused to find a 5-year-old in the driver's seat, the Utah Highway Patrol tweeted.

Quarantine measures continue across Thailand
