This appears to be the elephant in the room, so many WH defenders seem to not see:

The Trump administration fired the U.S. pandemic response team in 2018 to cut costs.

Rear Adm. Timothy Ziemer abruptly departed from his post leading the global health security team on the National Security Council in May 2018 amid a reorganization of the council by then-National Security Advisor John Bolton, and Ziemer’s team was disbanded. Tom Bossert, whom the Washington Post reported “had called for a comprehensive biodefense strategy against pandemics and biological attacks,” had been fired one month prior.

Reuters calls BS on this scam:

Partly false: The Trump administration disbanded the “pandemic response” team, but some of the team members were reassigned to roles that included pandemic response

Correction: the headline of this fact-check earlier read “Trump fired pandemic response team in 2018”, it has been amended to “Trump fired entire pandemic response team in 2018”

Please try comprehension 101, before doing blind defense.

In May 2018, the team was disbanded and its head Timothy Ziemer, top White House official in the NSC for leading U.S. response against a pandemic, left the Trump administration, the Washington Post reported ( here ). Some members of the global health and security team were merged into other units within the NSC, the article said.

The denial by Bolton is not convincing I am afraid

Why do we listen to master liar and apprentice liar Pompao. They both have proven beyond all doubt that the facts are irrelevant when it comes to covering their Ars!!. Trump was going to drain the swamp! instead he got rid of the moral members of the White House and filled it with would be Trump clones. I have not seen a media report on the latest number of lies and misleading statements that trump has continued to dribble out to cover his total mismanagement but it was way north of 16,000 a month ago. November 3 will be justice day but Trump will probably not respect the voice of the people and will look for more lies to claim a victory even if with the numbers being decisive. Guess Trump is looking harder than ever before for some foreign country to help him cheat again.

He may befriend China to meet his ends

The 'facts' that China put forward which you seem hell bent on believing without question for some bonkers reason.

But you keep carrying that water.

Some facts to show that the virus was identified and reported by Chine in a matter of days and trumps response 6 weeks later was that he had it under control and that it would miraculously disappear............idiot.

Enhanced surveillance was launched in all clinics in Guangdong province following the first reports of patients with undiagnosed pneumonia on 30th December 2019. Initially, screening and sampling for SARS-CoV-2 was targeted toward patients with fever and respiratory symptoms and those who had a history of travel in the 14 days before the date of symptom onset. The first detected case in Guangdong had symptom onset on 1st January and was reported on 19th January 2020

This is what someone writes when what they claimed is entirely false.

What next, you tell me do my own research.  This is not how adults debate.  This is how children debate.

You said what I posted was conspiracy and I asked you to be specific.

You can't do it.  And now, everyone knows.

Bravo, for showing your true self.

There you go precious.......

A conspiracy theory is an explanation for an event or situation that invokes a conspiracy by sinister and powerful groups, often political in motivation,[2][3] when other explanations are more probable.[4] The term has a pejorative connotation, implying that the appeal to a conspiracy is based on prejudice or insufficient evidence.[5] Conspiracy theories resist falsification and are reinforced by circular reasoning: both evidence against the conspiracy and an absence of evidence for it are re-interpreted as evidence of its truth,[5][6] whereby the conspiracy becomes a matter of faith rather than something that can be proved or disproved.[7]

AND.....China did take action.

its not the issue whether trump or anyone else did the right thing..... if the ccp had not unleashed the wuhan virus on the world trump would not be under the spotlight!!! lets get real, ccp is the culprit, anything else just is just irrelevant and takes the focus of the real culprits.!!!

And the real culprit is the clown who didn't act quickly enough when all around him were urging him to do so........

According to immunology professor Kristian Andersen, Yale's research is proof that the scale of the problem is America's "own fault".

"It means that we missed the boat early on, and the vast majority in this country is coming from domestic spread," Andersen told The Times.

In other words, officials were too slow to implement measures to contain the virus.

President Donald Trump restricted some travel from China at the start of February but waited until March 11 to ban travel from Europe. It turns out most of the infections in New York came via Europe, rather than straight from China.

Wonderful write up, my compliments,

But, no one claimed they have 'proof'. They said significant evidence it may have come from a lab.

MAY

Holy twoots, even I claim when all available evidence is considered, science and situational, it likely came from the lab. Likely means like maybe 50% chance.  Stronger than 'may'.

In truth, Wuhan was warned how many times? A Beijing lab let the old SARS leak what 3 times, eventually killing someone. But to be fair, it is not all about China, it's about the science of working with the world's most deadly pathogens in labs with people where we know their will be accidents. It a global issue and has been for a while. It's a big issue right now and no one should be hiding information.

BTW, do you know that pangolin's are out, forgiven? Initial reports that its virus was 99% similar were wrong, it's only 90%, much less than Bat Women's Yunnan bat reference. How did that happen? A Chinese researcher had an accident and reported the similarity of only the small spike region. Enthusiastic scientists are seldom careful.

But, no one claimed they have 'proof'. They said significant evidence it may have come from a lab.

from the article:  "On Wednesday, Pompeo said the United States did not have certainty, but there was significant evidence it came from the lab."

i'll give trump a little more leeway on this, as he's not exactly the brightest bulb brought into the body.  i "imagine" he done sat thought quite a few briefings, with many scenarios discussed.  he would have latched onto the ones that sounded good to him, without paying as much attention to the probabilities or confidence measurements.  i believe the first mention of this in the press was where he said he had seen evidence that gave him "high certainty" that it "may" have come from a lab.  that doesn't seem the right phrasing.  i understood with high certainty from that language that he may have conflated several reports or scenarios.

pompeo on the another hand ain't stupid.  he knows exactly what he's saying, and exactly how his words are understood by the public.

someone once asked "what difference, at this point, does it make?"

the answer is......none at all.

i no longer care (for the purpose of assigning blame) about misrepresentations and hiding data and magical disappearing guys with cellphones we'll call "citizen journalists."  save that for the anti-ccp rants.

the virus escaped from the lab!  we have evidence!

that's, umm, significant.  we don't need to prove anything other than that.   that's all we need to assign responsibility.  the other stuff is just gravy.

You left out quite a bit:

1.  China destroying the virus data in December.

2.  WHO conspiring with China claiming it was not spread person to person.

3.  China hiding that person to person spreading from the world.

4.  China denying access to foreign scientists to come see the infection first hand.

You conveniently left much out ... why?

Countries like the USA and UK wouldn't have to take any steps if they had been warned in December.  The Chinese government deliberately murdered people around the world due their actions.

Their actions were deliberate.

Absolutely spot on.  I will add the fact that on January 30, in the Democrat-controlled US House of Representatives, the focus was the impeachment process—not Wuhan virus.
