Ride upto Bang Saen...A ghost Town

Featured Replies

I had a ride up to Bang Saen today on my Z800.

Gosh it's quiet..

6 Thais on the beach..police came and did alot of pointing at the signs..

Don't know if they got fined..

just about on the darkside and today we had 3 very loudspeaker advertising trucks and many 100cc HondaWaveHarleys roaring up and down so as post 2 said, 'enjoy' and lucky you.

And so it begins …………...

I was staying in Bang Saen from late March until early May, and I can support your observations. During that whole period it was extremely quiet except in the evenings when the vendors, and markets would start their trade. Erik, and Pookey restaurant was open only for takeaways, and the beach was shut off for all of April. Really was strange to me too since I've seen that place on a weekend, and it's packed.

"Packed" is a relative term. Been around Bang Saen for 15 years and seen it deserted on many a weekend. It is mainly when there is something on or a holiday weekend. Congestion is mainly around the central beach area or the walking street market, both ends of the beach and central  town are quite quiet nearly all the time.

I use the hospital and when I went a couple of weeks ago I would agree the town was a lot more quiet than normal for the time of day. Bit of a bonus, although the safety measures slowed the procedures down in the hospital, the reduced numbers meant I was out a bit quicker than usual.

Yes, it's quiet. I see how you stuck in this bit about your ride
