napalm Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 I believe that most house/condo owners received a 3% discount on their April electricity bill. How about the FULL refund for April that was promised (over 150Kwh p.m.u.) ? Any information on how it will be paid back ? Deducted from May's bill ? What if the usage in May is much lower than April ? Many questions and so many unconfirmed rumours ? Any info (links) much appreciated. Thanks !
dabhand Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Maybe look at this other thread. I gave a report on post #53 which may answer some queries. https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1161905-pea-residential-electricity-users-to-get-refunds-in-may-or-july-depending-on-usage/page/4/?tab=comments#comment-15389846
Popular Post Oldie Posted May 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 12, 2020 Enter your customer data at the link below. Perhaps it helps. If you put your finger on the graph (or move the mouse there I guess) you will see the values. https://www.pea.co.th/en/e-Service/Meter-Reading-History 1 2
LivinginKata Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 I would like to know the same thing. As far as I know we are in the 30% discount range. I see no month bill discount. As you say. Maybe see in May bills. Not seen any discount April bills. I say bills as we have 3 meters at different buidings. Also my wife is still trying to get the meter deposits back. Not seen that money yet. 1
Popular Post worgeordie Posted May 12, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 12, 2020 I would rather they kept the money and used it to provide a reliable service, new wiring and other improvements ,so the electricity does not go down EVERYTIME it rains or the wind blows, its not that we are living in back of beyond, just 5 km from Chiang Mai Centre,4 Km from the actual electricity plant, not looking forward to rainy season. regards worgeordie 4

Coz you have rich Farang pension. Poor thais would rather see cash. Regards, Pravda 2 1
lee b Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 My water and electric is free every month, so these discounts etc dont matter to me. However if they have been promised they should be given.
ThailandRyan Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Does not look like I will get anything other than the small 3% they gave me on the last bill as I am using an average of 1500 KWH the past two months, March and April, probably the same for the May bill which comes next week on Friday as that when the meter is read and the sheet dropped in my mailbox by the MEA reader....

Regards, Pravda Common sense (I know, not so common), would say the money would be better spent on fixing the problems of blackouts, 90 quid a week not such a rich Farang pension ! but whatever you think, to make you feel better. regards worgeordie
ThailandRyan Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Someday I wished we lived out in the sticks so the kids coold go outside to play and run around in a yard instead of being stuck inside of the condo most of the day. The only exception is when we hit Lumpini Park to walk in the morning and evening. The air-conditioning runs 20 hours a day and we are using twice as much energy as we were using before with everyone home because of no work or school. I was using an average of 812 kwh a month before this crisis.
OneeyedJohn Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 I know our bill for April was 1638 baht, when the missus went to pay it, it cost 1141 baht, so not 50%, but not to be sniffed at. Same again next month ?
ThailandRyan Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 I was just refunded 397 Baht back to my Kbank account I pay my MEA out of, just says refund from MEA. No e-mail or anything else, but I will take it. My April bill I paid at the beginning of this month was for 6,577.33 baht, so not sure when that refund is for....

Somtamnication Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 I have been trying to pay it and not allowed. Wife said to wait. I have no idea what is happening.
