Amazing Trusted Thailand: TAT set for rebrand as foreign tourists expected to return in October

 

 

Thailand’s Tourism Authority plans to rebrand its famous and hugely successful ‘Amazing Thailand’ slogan.

 

The rebrand will see ‘Amazing Thailand’ become ‘Amazing Trusted Thailand’.

 

As part of the rebrand, TAT will put health and safety at the forefront of the new promotional campaign with the aim of helping to build confidence among foreign tourists.

 

The slogan ‘Thailand You Trust’ will also be used and will focus on three key selling points:

• Thailand’s effective public health system
• Thai food and culture
• Thailand’s natural beauty and the hospitality of Thai people

 

According to Bangkok Biz News, the promotion campaign will take place in three phases. 

 

The first phase coincides with the easing of the restrictions put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

 

The second phase, which will be in place from June, involves targeting tourists with promotional campaigns from countries where COVID-19 is no longer deemed a risk or which are regarded as having the spread of COVID-19 under control. 

 

Tourists from these countries will then be matched with provinces or regions in Thailand which have not reported a new COVID-19 case for at least 28 days. 

 

Islands such as Koh Samui could be among the first destinations to welcome foriegn tourists as it would be easier for the authorities to monitor arrivals and implement quarantine, should the need arise. 

 

The third phase is enabling foreign tourists to travel to Thailand under the so-called new normal, where health and safety and quality of service is emphasised. High end international tourists will be the target in this third phase, with Thailand promoting itself as a destination for health tourism. 

 

TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn said the aim is to have foreign tourists returning to Thailand in October but that target is also dependent on any guidelines issued by the Ministry of Public Health.

In order to gain trust from tourists you need to prove that you are continuously testing for the virus not just sitting around waiting for cases to pop up where ever .

Re branding equal to changing the use by date sticker on an old product...

They are incredibly brave or seriously stupid to put the words trust and Thailand in the same sentence. I am sure you can work out which of the two is more likely.

If measured by words, Thailand would be the first country in the world in so many apsects.
Then there's the truth... Good luck to the poor folks that were surviving thanks to the tourism.

Another ill thought out and desperate dreamland thinking by TAT. Anything can happen between now and October. A lot of people won't have money for vacations.

 I mean its all I could do to stop from pissing myself when I read this ludicrous new idea.  Where are there minds at "Trusted", Yes trusted to be scammed, trusted to loose your money, trusted to take what you have when asking you to stay on a visa...need I say more.....

Health and safety in Thailand.

 

1. On the roads with little law enforcement (mainly directed at foreigners) and cracked uneven pavements and where taxi and Tuk tuk drivers cheat you.

2. In the mainly unlicensed and uninspected hotels with minimal fire escapes and equipment and where building codes are ignored.

3. In the bars and entertainment areas where owners and police are hand in glove and if you dispute a bill you will be dealt with by violence or arrest.

4. In the beach areas where you will be robbed by ladyboys prowling for gold or jet ski scammers forcing you to pay for old damage.

5. in the National Parks and other attractions where you will be charged ten times local rate.

 

Many things to be fixed before Thailand can be touted as healthy and safe.

What test are you talking about? The test that shows something in about 50% of the cases and nothing in 50% of the cases, no matter who you test? If you repeat this test, it shows exactly the opposite, like with the German Bundesliga soccer players? It would be nice if there was a test you could trust as much as a pregnancy test, 99.9%. Problem: There is no such thing.

I took a pregnancy test once....it showed I was pregnant and I am a balding, fat, overweight, egg and beer stainer wife beater wearing farang, what more can be said...

One word that dosnt befit Thailand is Trust....

My Trust degree is at 50% currently for booking a Christmas New year trip .Have to be sure i would not be quarantined for 2 weeks out of my proposed 3 week trip ,before i buy a flight ticket  .

Thailand You Trust sounds like an insurance company slogan rather than a vacation destination.

Who could they be talking about .. and it may go bang in their face if numbers starting rising again from the country in question they hold close ..

Not really pushing the bounds of imagination is it .. Not forgetting trust is something to be earned not just nailed into your advertising mantra's .. And to be honest it just doesn't sound right when you say it .. 

Funny, having lived and worked here for 30-years, trust is not a word that immediately springs to mind when I think of Thais or Thailand.

I would have though 'Amazing Desperate Thailand' would have been a more trusted and truthful logo. However, I wish them well with their campaign.

If this is true, you should make an appointment at the hospital to have a check for testicular cancer. Any pregnancy test result showing positive that has been done via the urine if a man is a heavy indicator of testicular cancer due to the estrogen levels given off from it. Not always accurate but a sure sign so, again, if this isn’t serious comment, go and get checked out.

Who the actual buggery comes up with this dreadful identity.  Does anyone know if TAT even use a reputable creative agency or just dream up this horrible stuff internally.  There is no coherence with their identity, the evolution of the 'brand' is knee-jerk at best and the palate and overall design is rubbish. Copy is uninteresting and dull and the whole umbrella campaign feels cheap and last minute.  To be honest, the only decent and thoughtful/creative/tasteful piece of media I have seen from a large multi-national is Thai Airways' (somewhat new) safety film.  Lovely touches and thoughtful design metrics.  Rant over. For now.....

Amazing Thailand - no beaches, no bars, no nightlife. A hard sell.

Great..... Send all the Chinese tourists to Koh Samui. I truly support this idea.

The government can get rid of their unqualified, political appointee “health minister” that said Westerners were spreading COVID-19 which created xenophobia against “farangs”... certainly didn’t feel welcomed in Thailand.

The sarcastic nature of my post was obviously not noted....I was being sarcastic about the tests for Covid being compared to a pregnancy test and the % of positive and negatives, I apologize if you were actually led to believe the post itself.......

 

Of course this is how folks actually believe what the government is telling them about the virus......
