Need prescription from home refill, urgent

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I have a prescription from my doctor and need a refill on a specific drug for a urology issue. The pharmacies here do not have them, and one doctor at a clinic here recommend I make an appointment at a hospital with an urologist (I'm in Phuket).

My question is, if I have a prescription from my doctor at home and need a refill, do I need to make a doctor's appointment for a prescription from a Thai doctor?

Also, where does one go that would have specialized drugs in stock?

Last, if a few pharmacies don't carry the drug, does that mean most of them won't? As in, am I better off driving my bike across Phuket to a hospital rather than trying to find the right pharmacy?

Thank you for anyone's help, I'm a little in the dark  here on what to do.

Best,

J

Name that medication and you may find someone on the same meds who may help you get some.

If you're from the UK, no.

I have an 8 weekly repeat prescription from my GP in the UK. It is recieved and made up by my nominated pharmacist. A friend then picks up my medication and posts it on to me.

In normal times it takes about 5 to 7 days from posting to arriving at my house in Thailand. Post Office registered delivery. There seems to have been a total block on the service of late but recent reports on TV suggest that the service is back to normal.

Try Fascino, big drug store North Pattaya Rd.

Foreign prescriptions have no validity here. However most drugs, including virtually all urology meds, do not require a prescription here and can be bought over the counter.

And no, the fact that a few pharmacies in Phuket don:t carry something does nto mean no pharmacies do.

Please provide the name of the medication and I will advise further.

Even if its not in stock, as long as its available in Thailand, they will order it and have it in store within 24 hours. Usually inexpensive too.

No Fascino in Phuket?

There is, but it:s not on North Pattaya Road!

Let:s find out what the drug is first before suggesting any pharmacy. At this point don:t even know if the drug is available/approved in Thailand.
