State supported religions invariable lead to corruption as this case demonstrates. The same is true for Islamic and Jewish and Christian countries that declare a state religion and finance them. That includes tax exemptions as well, just look at USA Christian preachers.

"National office of Buddhism"

The words itself contradicts the concept of Buddhism.

Buddhists are supposed to set themselves free from desire and disappear into the forest.

Well, to compete with other religious ventures they also have to be one of organized religion.

Of course it will corrupt as any other organized one.

Well they are full of 'NOB's obviously!!! ????????????????????????????????

Was he on the laughing gas when they took that pic' ..

Nope. It simply was his pre-conviction facial expression when he thought he had attained nirvana through his embezzlement, convinced he would get away with it. But as Buddhism teaches: "Nothing is permanent."

Just stick them in the nick together with no status. Make them at one with everything.

There is a lot missing in this article.

First there were 7 charges against him for embezzlement and he has been found guilty on all of them

His total jail time so far is 94 years.

He has been ordered to pay back all the funds that they embezzled.

He has been in jail since 2018 when he was arrested.

Do not see him getting bail while waiting appeal

So they were given heavy prison sentences !!

Question is, are they in prison, or still running loose.?

Sentencing is 1 thing, but actually getting them in prison is another.

In this land the "sentence" is never what the criminal will serve, especially if there is money involved, like the song says..."the rich get rich and the poor do jail time..."   ????

how weird is that.

In that case why would a Buddhist go to a pizza restaurant ask the staff to 'make me one with everything'?

Yikes. And the guys in power have self placed immunity. Don't figure!

Must be nice knowing that you have already pardoned yourself before you committed the embezzlement and destruction of your country through Malfeasance.  The same malfeasance they claimed others had undertaken.  Greed and corruption are ingrained in this society as well as unfortunately the rest of the world.  FACE is a horrible thing to loose, and if you can never say someone is ........because of libel laws, well then I rest my case....
