Sanook reported that a novice monk fell off the second floor of monks' quarters at the temple of Wat Chaichana Songkhram (Wat Tuek) around 10.30 pm last night.

Ruam Katanyu rescue foundation attended the scene on Chakrawat Road after the young monk pierced his leg on railings.

The railings were cut and the novice was handed over to the medical staff of Klang Hospital.

I'd always imagined monks living in small single storey buildings away from the temple buildings.

It seems even monks now live a high-rise existence. You live and learn.

The second floor, i.e. in Thailand one floor above the ground is "high-rise"?  You live and learn!

By the look of those spikes on the rails he was lucky to only have pierced his leg. Brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it...

Could have ended up with a Prince Albert ????

I suppose that could be similar to the Colgate toothpaste 'ring of confidence' (1960's advert).
