Popular Post TallGuyJohninBKK
*Removed post edited out* Quote Protesters Dispersed With Tear Gas So Trump Could Pose at Church WASHINGTON — People who gathered outside the White House to protest police brutality spent Monday waving signs and screaming for justice. They watched as police officers and National Guard units flooded Lafayette Square, delivering on a threat made by President Trump. And just before the city’s 7 p.m. curfew went into effect, they were hit with flash-bang explosions and doused with tear gas. It was because the president, who spent part of the weekend in a secure bunker as protests roiled, wanted to have his picture taken holding a Bible at a battered church just beyond the gates. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/01/us/politics/trump-st-johns-church-bible.html?action=click&module=Spotlight&pgtype=Homepage Quote “He did not pray,” said Mariann E. Budde, the Episcopal bishop of Washington. “He did not mention George Floyd, he did not mention the agony of people who have been subjected to this kind of horrific expression of racism and white supremacy for hundreds of years.”

Popular Post TallGuyJohninBKK
From George Will of all people: Quote Trump must be removed. TallGuyJohninBKK
Speaking of the worst being yet to come: Quote Trump threatens military action to quell protests, and the law would let him do it ... A law called the Posse Comitatus Act prohibits the domestic use of military for law enforcement purposes without specific congressional authorization, said Stephen Vladeck, a professor at the University of Texas Law School. But a different law, the Insurrection Act, provides the president authorization to do so under certain circumstances, he said. ... if Trump were to invoke it now, state and local officials likely “would fight tooth and nail to keep federal troops out.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/can-trump-use-military-to-stop-protests-insurrection-act/2020/06/01/c3724380-a46b-11ea-b473-04905b1af82b_story.html Edited June 2, 2020 by TallGuyJohninBKK

Presidents are there to show leadership, unite people, put the well-being of the citizens first. They don't send army on their own people. Despearate dictators trying to cling to power do that. Popular Post spidermike007
What is the possibility that elements of the right wing, basically hijacked the protests, and turned them violent, which then encouraged the rampant looting and rioting. It would not take much with the powder keg environment, the anger towards law enforcement that already existed throughout the US, and the graphic Floyd murder caught on video. The more I consider the possibility, the more it makes sense. It feeds right into trumps agenda. Distract from a massive Covid failure, and a stagnant, do nothing presidency at this point, and make himself look strong and decisive. Could have been sponsored by elements from within the administration, to any of the national security agencies, even the CIA or NSA. Who knows? The protests sure started out peaceful, and quickly degenerated. Makes one wonder. These days in America, I believe anything like this kind of thing is possible. It is then so easy to blame the black man, the people of color, the poor and the others. By casting blame, they do not attempt to fix anything, address the inherent issues, discuss the inherent issues, or make lives better. Is there anything more cynical, than Trump using force to disperse protestors in front of the White House, to walk across the street to a church, and hold up a bible? As if he was a man of God? Wonders never cease. Edited June 2, 2020 by spidermike007 2 1 1 1

The primaries were a sham. Give us two better leaders to choose from.
