Koh Chang: "No Covid here!" - Extra ferries as Thai tourists flood back for first weekend since lockdown eased

Thai media 77kaoded reported that it was a busy weekend in Koh Chang in Trat province during the first weekend since the coronavirus pandemic restrictions were eased last Monday.

They quoted a harbor official as saying that they had to run one ferry an hour from 6 am to 6.30 pm to cope.

There were queues of cars on the island lasting 45 minutes as tourists headed home on Sunday.

Chakrit Suayroop from Pathum Thani who came with his family for three nights said that their trip had been wonderful. Despite the fact that the national park there was still not open he had found the island to be beautiful.

And best of all he felt safe and comfortable that there was no Covid-19 there, he said.
