BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand on Friday reported four new coronavirus cases and no new deaths, bringing its total number of confirmed infections to 3,129, of which 58 were fatalities.

The four new cases were Thai nationals returning from India who were in quarantine, said Taweesin Wisanuyothin, a spokesman for the government's COVID-19 Administration Centre.

There were four new cases of Covid-19 over a 24-hour period, Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said on Friday (June 12).

There have been no domestic cases over the last 18 days.

All the four cases were returnees from India who were in state quarantine in Chonburi province. Two females aged 39 and 44 and two males aged 37 and 53 were all asymptomatic.

As of June 12, the total number of confirmed cases in the country stood at 3,129 -- 84 are under treatment, 2,987 have recovered and been discharged, and there have been 58 deaths.

Of the 192 patients found in state quarantine, 90 cases, or 46.9 per cent, were found in the first two days after entering state quarantine, 38 (19.8 per cent) were found on the third-fourth days; 35 (18.2 per cent) were found on days 5-6; 11 were found on days 7-8 (5.7 per cent); two on days 9-10 (1 per cent); 11 on days 11-12 (5.7 per cent); and five on days 13-14 (2.6 per cent).

Globally, the total number of confirmed cases has crossed 7.5 million, up 144,000 on Thursday, while deaths have exceeded 423,000. Thailand ranks 86th among countries in terms of number of cases.

Yes you can actually, they also mentioned that hotels, restaurants and eateries can from the 15th June serve alcohol.

I think that's a worry too.

I read that's why more people aren't wearing masks any more. They think it's all over and don't seem to give a toss - especially teenagers.

why did you say 'yes you can actually', when you cannot

lol, you finally got your wish granted...

I don't see how alcohol in a restaurant is/was a priority in the first place

I have a question. It is my understanding that you can't become one of the 3,126 confirmed cases unless you have symptoms and then get tested and then re-tested with both tests happening at the two reference labs. But, we were also recently told that 26% of the 3,126 were young people who were mostly asymptomatic. So, how did all those young people get to be in the 3,126 number?

Good news.

So let the bars open as well. The folks that work in them are desperate for even 30% of what they earned before & these are your " non official workers that the Government has spurned in relation to any form of  "social security payments" All the customers have been in Thailand  for 3 months anyway,

Worry about how & when you are going to expose all of Thailands people to a 2nd wave when country selection is made for tourism reopening

Fantastic news, despite daily extensive countrywide testing of both symptomatic and asymptomatic people in all the regional cities of the kingdom the trend of zero new domestic cases continues.

Truly astonishing!...!even though deaths and illness by other respiratory causes has shown a significant increase over the last few months somehow the wizard Prayut has magically almost eradicated Covid 19  right on cue as per his governments seemingly clairvoyant projection a few months back of a figure of around 3k positives and of late no new cases in over two weeks.

Could it indeed be the face masks and hi tech temp guns at shops or the strictly adhered to social distancing, whats your secret Mr Prayut? is it the somtam diet ? surely the WHO and governments worldwide have been begging for your Covid free formula!
