Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana

The Finance Ministry has given the Bt5,000 cash handout to 15.1 million people so far, Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, secretary to finance minister, said in a Facebook post on Thursday (June 11).

He said that though this remedial measure launched to help people affected by the Covid-19 outbreak has come to an end, Finance Minister Uttama Savanayana still wants the ministry to check complaints filed by close to a million people across the country.

“I’m happy to work on this project, no matter how tough it is,” he said. “Everywhere I go, people voice their appreciation of the prime minister as well as finance minister. I believe all government officials are happy to work for the country and its people.”

In his post, Thanakorn also thanked all ministry officials who checked complaints from people every day, adding that once these complaints are checked, the ministry will issue measures to help these people as soon as possible.

“I promise nobody will be left behind,” he added.

Again with  the nonsense of making people queue up to submit a whole forest of paper !

what ever happen to Thailand 4.0 ?

Every Thai has an ID card, most have a bank account  just pay the money directly into the bank account.

It was not necessary to queue and and submit a whole forest of paper, a charity I work with helped over forty people apply for those funds and the vast majority received them. All that was required was to complete an online application form and supply, as you say, a Thai ID card number, bank account details, name and address and details of the job they held previously.

I don't know. Perhaps people who weren't able to apply online maybe or didn't know how.

prove it, out of all the Thai people I know not one knows anyone that got this money including themselves apart from one person

last count was 12m plus 12m to farmers 24m - 1/3 of the population

so including farmers who number some 12 million this is now 27m people who got 5000baht x 3 months

sorry I do not believe - and there is no way to prove otherwise - just words and claims - nothing more

The accompanying photo shows just how digital Thailand isn't going.

Everywhere inside government offices, there are reams of paper stack to the ceilings stacked along the walls......

Thanakorn, can you explain who/ where are the 15 million people you are talking about are.

My wife has spoken with a lot of locals/ parents at her school, and not 1 person claims to have received any money.

I think he is just spouting a lot of hot air, or this crowd in government have forgotten the poor folk in Issan.

My maid said she has got two 5000 baht hand outs so far.

5,000 baht/month is fine....if all provided services are satisfactory :clap2:

My wife got hers, so did the two ladies either side of her laundry shop. One a clothes shop and the other a massage shop. She knows loads of Thais that have received it, including motor cycle taxi guys, massage shop girls, and bar girls!!

Maybe Pattaya got preferential treatment??

How does an unemployed person live on 5,000.

It's certainly very very difficult    say 3,000 baht for rent/mortgage

+ 2 x 30 baht meals per day 1,800 (already 4800)

+ water,electric,toiletries,laundry,phone top-up,motorcycle/car payments etc etc etc
