Police from two stations are involved in the case of a Thai man who appeared to be drunk who was taking his unconscious three year old boy to hospital.

Nawaphon, 29, plowed through traffic waiting in the rain at a red light at an intersection in the Phrapradaeng area of Samut Prakan around 7 pm last night.

Nine vehicles were damaged there and another four outside a Toyota showroom where Nawaphon later parked his damaged Fortuner.

A motorcyclist took pity on him because he was cradling his son and said he needed to get to the hospital.

At Bang Pakok Hospital he created a further scene initially stopping doctors and nurses from doing their job to help his son who had a broken arm.

Rat Burana police arrested him and tested him for alcohol - it was negative.

They have him in custody and have charged him with reckless driving and creating a public disturbance.

He will also face charges from Phrapradaeng police within whose jurisdiction the original trouble started.

It appeared that the boy was injured before the collisions began and that the errant driver was trying to get to hospital with him.

One driver said he was waiting at the intersection before he was shunted from behind.

The Fortuner also mounted the footpath in the incident that caused severe traffic jams in the area.

If it's not drink or drugs that contributed, I hazard a guess that he was in a blind panic, taking his unconscious, injured 3 y.o. to hospital.

That or drugs, its not said he was checked for drugs. Though if he was high the signs would be there and I would suspect the police would have known and demanded a test. But that is of course speculation on my part.

Let that be a lesson to read better. ????

You are correct and have since changed to a more reasonable post. I was wondering why in the video the guy was moan crying out load like a crazy person at the police station. Then they breathalyzed him and it first showed zero but then a sound clicked like a number was popping up but then the video stopped short of showing. Well taken, I should read more in depth but sometimes skip read. No one is perfect.

Its just that there are so many people who don't read and just comment. Makes them look stupid. Other then that no problems just pointed it out in a humorous way.

But yes its strange for someone to respond like this, maybe a mental patient. I would say that anyone who reacts like this gets an alcohol and drug test.

For me I am actually multi tasking with international stuff through the day, so in-between I read TV to help break my boredom and monotony up. And yes his odd cry(ing) out at the station and ducking down at the police station was extremely peculiar. Maybe he was the one who broke his kids arm being whacked out and it was eating him from the inside out. What ever it is I hope he is fixable for his families point of happiness.

Same thing always multitasking, got a computer with 3 32 inch screens so you get the idea. TV is to break boredom.

Yes really strange his response but who knows.

Just another day out on the roads... you just never know what you might come across or the reason why.

But then it says they treated the boy for a broken arm.

Yes bit did they test for drugs?

No normal sensible person would drive like that, he surely was under the influence of something.

The culture here, creates one heck of an influence.

If your 3 years old son was unconscious, what would you do?

Definitely would not do what he did. Have you seen the state of him in the whole video? Would you behave like that? Ever?

No that’s not all that matter.  It’s not ok to completely lose your mind in an emergency situation damaging property and endangering other lives.  He most likely would have arrived at the hospital in the same amount of time keeping his head.  My guess is if he had run into your car you’d be changing your tune.

In a normal country he would have flagged down the nearest cop and asked for an escort.  Stadtler has done this twice.

However, that does not give him permission to put other people in harm's way.

A lot of times you were right, but this time I caught you. It is normal to drive like that without the influence of anything , this is Thailand remember?
