A leading Thai virologist has highlighted recent research indicating that people with group A blood are more susceptible to Covid-19.

Dr Yong Poovorawan of Chulalongkorn Hospital said on Thursday (June 18) that group A individuals had shown higher rates of infection than people with B, O or AB blood.

The New England Journal of Medicine recently published a report on studies in Italy and Spain which found that people with O group blood have the lowest risk of coronavirus infection, while A-group individuals have the highest.

The findings came from Italian and Spanish scientists’ genome-wide association study (GWAS), and confirm earlier studies by Chinese researchers, said Dr Yong.

Who knows?   But these studies done in Italy and Spain are now also backed up by studies in China also.

    It’s not just one study.

Blood group A is at higher risk for the C.C.P. Corona Virus.

Blood group O has much less risk in comparison to group A or other groups.

Maybe there were more group A people closer to Infected people than group O and other groups. :wai:

again serious misinformation.

I don't know why they like to blabber about blood groups when the real indicator is + rhesus

We found a higher proportion of blood group A and a lower proportion of
blood group O among COV+ patients compared to COV-, though in both cases the result is
significant only in Rh positive blood types.

Same as me - interestingly, O+ is the most common of all the blood groups yet the least likely to lead to Covid-19 infection (according to the virologist)!

I’m O-  thanks mom and dad. ????

No not "statistical nonsense " from nonsensical replies above: The antibodies prevalent in the O blood group specifically inhibit the COV-2 proteins that are dependent on adhesion to the hosts ACE2 receptors.  morrobay, BSc. Biology.
