Queensland Australia charge for quarantine

The Queensland Government announced on 18 June that all inbound travellers to that state will now have to pay for their quarantine from 1 July. The cost for a single person is $2800. It says that if you had booked your travel before that date and can prove it you will be exempt. I have done his but the dates will have changed from one future date to another. I will still try. I wonder if its tax deductible? Probably not, most of my light bulb ideas aren't. Sigh.
