Representing my old northern English town of 85,000, 50 unwashed, scruffy, unemployable, drug using toerags attended the BLM protest.

Same goes for all the similar towns. 

City protests attract more due to rioting and looting possibilities granted.

A protest does not involve the protesters or their group to harm or damage or destroy

property,  Dap,  so if you are supporting the people who do damage to what is not theirs,

then are you any better than these criminals?  People who are trying to topple statues

are not protesters anymore, they are doing a criminal act, Period. I cannot support

criminals, and I do not support many protests as well. In the USA especially, it seems that

a lot of the population do not know how to protest peacefully, as so many of the protests

end with property damage and damage to cars and trucks as well. Just my opinion.

Upheaval? If and when something actually changes, perhaps. Remains to be seen. Worldwide? Sorta, not in every country, not in the same force, not even with same agenda always. Most people do not partake, most people aren't fully signed to all that's related to the protests, the vandalism and violence in particular.

If this is becoming a civil war (hyperbole, but let's entertain the notion) then bringing in the Army might have some consequences - such as soldiers siding with protests, for example. Further, armed forces aren't really well equipped or well trained to deal with this. More likely someone will go overboard and just make things worse. Don't recall USA generals being much in favor of the Army's involvement, but what do they know, eh?
