Will Trump deport the LEGAL Haitian migrants in Ohio as promised?
It's not an emergency exception but the Constitution that all peoples in America are entitled to Due Process of the Law. A Presidential Order cannot override the Constitution. But Trump has expressed intent to overthrow the US Constitution to become a dictator. That would be an interesting attempt as it would put Trump on conflict withe the US military that has sworn yo Uphold the Constitution. Coups without military backing don't do well. -

What is an Intensive English Programme?
Do you live nearby? Do you live permanently in Thailand? If "Yes" yo both, you can help. Generally, the immersion method is considered the best way to learn and language. To be in an environment where that language is being continuously used. Make an arrangement whereby the young lad spends time with you. Weekends maybe. A few evenings a week, maybe. Be sure to have your wife/partner involved. Don't allow her to translate when the boy doesn't understand. Be patient. Start with every day phrases. "Time to get up", "What would you like for breakfast?", "Shall we go out?". "Where would you like to go?" I spoke English to our daughter from birth. My wife spoke Thai to her. In the village she would hear Khmer and at school Khmer and Isaan Laos. She is now quad lingual. Generally there is no limit to how many languages a young brain can pick up so don't listen if family say things like "no, he'll get confused". He won't. The classroom is not the best place to "learn" a language. It's OK for "studying" grammar and maybe spelling but the "learn" aspect must be done by doing. You wouldn't expect kids to read a book about swimming and jump in a pool and be proficient at 4 strokes, would you? Give it a go. If the lad is keen, he will learn. -

Retention Crisis in UK Armed Forces as Families Warn of Impact from VAT on Private Schools
Funny many have the vision that those in private education are Tarquin/Peregrine and privileged........my Mother of course took 2 extra jobs one as a barmaid at St Johns Hotel Solihull hours were 7pm-12 am the other was weekend cleaner for various "priveleged" households as well as her full time job as medical records officer at Monyhull hospital Birmingham..............on top- of that she had a handicapped son my Brother to bring up who now lives in a Mencap home in Birmingham. He stayed at home until he was 30. To send me to a private school in Acocks Green Birmingham. They couldnt afford their first house utnil they were 36 and lived with my Grandmother in a terrace in Hall Green for 12 years after getting married. And to the other whiner going on about people who didn't have holidays to send their kids to school along with a whole host of other things, good for them. -

Sticky situation re co-dependency
Talking about childhood - At some point, I think pretty early on, the relationship turned to a parent=child one. Not because there was a 3rd party, but because it started to get dysfunctional where J was so inadequate functionally (can't do anything right - one of the huge red flags) that I decided that I better be a parent to him. For the better? No, it was for the worse. As much as he was his mama's boy, now he became my papa's boy. Cut to the chase, he just lost his mom and now has to confront the reality of his dad leaving him, that might have been the cause for his meltdown. Currently, having him move back to his "house" was the 1st baby step in the scheme of "move out into a seperate dwelling you grow in a way and do your own thing." -

Thailand's Expats Urged to Register with TRD for Tax, Says Expert
This is pure and ill informed speculation on your behalf and bears no resemblance to reality. If Thailand wanted to monitor foreigners tax compliance a mechanism already exists in the Tax Clearance certificate which is now in suspense but could easily be revived.Again there has never been any suggestion up to now that it will be revived, other than in the fevered minds of some foreigners.Personally I think it unlikely.- 1
