Obviously, that's a yes. And why should Trump check blah blah blah any more than any other person? Because you say he should? Nah... I say he has the same freedom of speech as any other person and can tweet or speak as he sees fit. Now tell me again how horrible it is to talk about white power.

In today's world, as you likely well know, the Black Power symbol represents the struggle for black civil rights in the US and elsewhere. To compare to 'White Power' which symbolises racism, far right 'white grievance' propaganda and so on is nothing more than misinformation; alternately playing games to annoy.

Trump put it on Twitter. There was no "media" involved. That's the beauty of Trump: He will destroy himself. And hopefully he will do that before he destroys America.

Or he didn't the audio of it. Or he heard the audio, but didn't hear the alleged "white power" talk. So no, your "any explanation is bad for Trump" proclamation is obviously false.

Let's try a quick integrity test. Do you ever watch short video clips of stuff on social media but don't listen to the sound? Yes or no?

That flies once, but not repeatedly. No matter how aggressively you try to use it.

For example: https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2015/nov/23/donald-trump/trump-tweet-blacks-white-homicide-victims/

He retweets this bogus statistic that claims that 81% of white people who are murdered are murdered by blacks, where only 2% of blacks are killed by whites. This was not only incredibly untrue (the actual number of whites killed by blacks was just 15%) but the larger question is what was he trying to show by retweeting that?

What was his true intentions when he blatantly lied about muslims celebrating in the streets after 9/11 and claimed he personally witnessed it? https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2015/nov/22/donald-trump/fact-checking-trumps-claim-thousands-new-jersey-ch/

Why would he make an equivalency between the nazi protestors in Charlottesville and the anti-nazi protestors? And why after apologizing for that would he then take back the apology a day later and later call the decision to apologize the worst mistake of his presidency per the Woodward book?

He has a long, long history of these type of things. And yet the same people defend these statements each time and pretend we don't already have a book on the guy? Why is that?

Alex has been reduced to having to defend that Trump has the right to retweet racists comments...you are absolutely right Alex, Trump does have that right. And We The People absolutely have the right to call him out on it and expect more from him and replace him if need be. So good for you Alex, Trump has the right claim ignorance of what he retweets (which by the way basically discredits everything else the guy tweets) and we have the right to hold him accountable in November.

A month ago Alex called Biden a White Supremacist because of his 'if you vote for Trump you aint black' comment, which Biden apologized for. Alex, based on this bar you have set, how does the latest Trump retweet rank on your white supremacist meter? (since Trump has not apologized for retweeting those remarks) Doesn't POTUS have to be held to the same standard in your eyes that you judged Biden by?

Presidents can and do behave like the Joe next door in many respects. Now if only you can tell me why promoting "white power" is bad and promoting "black power" is OK. Either you are for equality or you are not.

Geez man, you're clearly being deliberately obtuse.  So you think it's ok to promote "white power?"  If that's the case, why doesn't Trump just own it?  Just come out and say he supports white power?  But no, he deleted his tweet almost immediately and has said nothing.  Pretty cowardice, don't you think?  Pretty darn PC of Trump, for a guy who claims to be anything but.

Yeah, "White Power", expect more of this, we're in danger of turning what was a lunatic fringe movement into something more mainstream, for every action there is a reaction. I recently discovered The Turner Diaries, the white supremacist's bible, apparently. No doubt it's come to the fore because of recent events. By all accounts it's terribly written and derives it's power from its fanatical, dystopian, nazi vision, preaching to the converted so to speak. Anyway, that's by the by, the point is the parallels between the narrative in that book (published 1978) and the current situation are uncanny and scary.

So the problem is that we have a president that tweets and retweets material without proper consideration as to merit. Granted! You'll get no argument from me. Guilty as charged. Here's the problem, though. Have you seen some of the vitriolically racist comments that's come from members of the BLM? And if so, why do you not have a problem with that? Why do you reserve your moral indignation for one political party rather than another?

I dunno this is getting weird and I keep seeing White Powder.  It's a subliminal message and I feel we need to relax with, or without, the White Powder.

This is what the Left in America thinks is going to happen. They are going to defeat Trump in 2020, which I believe is hardly guaranteed but highly likely. And then they're going to celebrate. And then the reality hits. And to the same degree the Democratic party has allowed itself to become radicalized, there will be at least an equal and opposite reaction from the radical right. I think a much, much worse reaction. Don't forget that roughly 50% of all Americans are right of center. Are 50% of Americans going to acquiesce to things like racial reparations? Of course not. Any meaningful socialism? No. This is what is so funny and endearing about the Left, is that they really believe Trump is the worst that can happen to them.

I might remind you that over 50% (not roughly) of the people in the last election voted AGAINST Donald Trump...and that was with THE BASE at full capacity. There is NOBODY that is dividing as Donald Trump. Of course the right will not be happy if Biden is POTUS...they were not happy when Clinton was POTUS in the 90s and when Obama was POTUS 4 years ago. That is nothing new. But at least Biden will not INTENTIONALLY try to divide a nation to ensure he stays in power at every chance he gets. I would rather have 4 years of a guy who at least tries to unite the country where he can instead of this guy we have now that does everything he can to divide the country every chance he gets...right down to should you wear a mask in a pandemic...how is that working out for the USA right about now? Trump could do two things right away to get me to have second thoughts about him being a total idiot that is unfit to lead (not that I would vote for him, he lost me years ago):

1. Wear a mask and get over yourself. Do you think Abraham Lincoln in 1864 or Ronald Reagan in 1984 would not have been wearing his mask if this was happening during their terms and re-election campaigns?

2. Show us his taxes like every other creditable candidate for office. Trump looks like he is hiding something, especially when his calling card is what a wealthy ballin' billionaire stud he fashions himself to be.

Any explanation is bad for Trump:

- either he did it on purpose and he is an incompetent opportunist and/or racist

- or he is an incompetent moron who doesn't even check what he re-tweets.

But, on the other hand, any daftness like this distracts attention from worse stuff, and gives his supporters something to argue and fight for. Keep media/social media busy, keep the base primed.

Who says or implies that? You've made your accusation. Now make your case.

Yeah, because making one's case is sooo important to Trump and his fans.

Now can you give a "lockherup!"?

Hallelujah.

Amen.

Integrity test. You crack me up. :cheesy:

Strongly supporting a President and a person that's an anti-thesis to integrity, that's rich.

But as per the dishonest deflection question - watch a clip without paying attention or listening to audio? Sure. Posting it on social media without doing so, no. But hey, why expect Trump to act responsibly, eh?
