webfact Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 What a boar! Police and Poh Teck Tung chase wild pig for two hours in Samut Prakan! Picture: 77kaoded Bang Plee police and the Poh Teck Tung rescue foundation got a call that a wild boar was going shopping in the area. The 100 kilo boar had been spotted by a motorcyclist wandering along Thepparat Road and when he was unable to deter the creature he called in the constabulary. They blocked off the entrance to a large store as they feared that the animal would be spooked inside and may cause injury to itself or the many shoppers. Finally after a two hour hunt the authorities managed to lure the boar with some tasty morsels and take its mind off wandering. Picture: 77kaoded No one admitted to owning the beast. A cage was found to transport it to a fish farm in Bang Bo after the owner stepped in and promised food and lodging. He promised not to sell the boar or cut it into rashers. sammieuk1 Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Sounds like groundhog day chasing some pig or other or my what lookdown has done to me as everyone appears chasing this pig for money ????
phetphet Posted July 8, 2020 Posted July 8, 2020 We have one with nine babies that turned recently near us. Appears to be living in an overgrown plot of land. Normally see the mum and her brood a couple of times a day foraging for food by the roadside. Had to wait last night for them to all get off the road so we could pass. Security man said it's a Moo Bpaa? I think it means jungle pig. Saw another one a couple of weeks ago wandering along the road. Wonder if it's to do with less tourists here in Samui. Quieter, so wildlife moving about more.
