History repeats itself: Buriram residents have no tap water for months

A devastating drought in Buriram in Thailand's north east has left thousands of families without tap water for the last 2 months.

Both the Huay Jorakhae Mark and Huay Talat reservoirs have dried up and pumping from other sources has proved insufficient.

In some areas like Ban Makha the residents have to go with pots and pans to get water from a 2,000 liter tank supplied by the local authority at the end of the soi.

Daily News said that 34,000 households are affected.

One female resident recalled 60 years ago when the area was known for not having sufficient water.

She never thought that with today's infrastructure that history would repeat itself.

Thailand cant deny foreigners do help the Thai people out. Not all are the dirty farang PM Prayot refers to all the time! We do contribute.
