Will it be stopping in the small villages and some of the houses on the outskirts to let off the odd elderly Thai couple like the non-stop buses do?
mikebell Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 Nine stops at nine stations @ three minutes a station = 27 minutes. So actual travel time is 33 minutes for 150 kms = speeds of up to 180 kms per hour - the average speed of a Thai mini-coach driver.
Rimmer Posted July 21, 2020 Posted July 21, 2020 A post with totally messed up quotes that tried to drag Tump into the topic has been removed also a reply
wolf81 Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 So this is a Thai-Italian development. I can only hope the Italian company isn't AnsaldoBreda. The high speed trains these Italians delivered to The Netherlands looked nice, but fell apart pretty quickly. I believe the high-speed trains were replaced in about a year due to all the malfunctions. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V250_(train)
Lenny the Loser Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 If Thailand is to survive the challenge of its neighbours it should reject the rush to modernise and upgrade and instead return to the traditional ways of life. A more serene and laidback Thailand holds far more appeal than a slick, fast-paced tropical wringer. 1

Prolly 60-min to Pattaya terminal, then another 20-30' transfer to hotel in town. Seven-of-one half-a-dozen the other. My BKK pick-up driver will bring beer or whatever for the ride.
