WASHINGTON/NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump's re-election campaign ramped up spending in June as the presidential race intensified, outlaying more than $50 million - about twice what Trump spent the month before.

Trump ended the month with $113 million (89.15 million pounds) in cash, according to a disclosure filed on Monday with the Federal Election Commission.

Trump's campaign funneled money into television ads as public opinion polls showed his Democratic opponent Joe Biden increasingly building a significant lead ahead of the Nov. 3 election.

And while Trump's campaign bought significant television air time across the country, Biden only launched his first major advertising blitz in the second half of June, targeting battleground states like Pennsylvania and Michigan.

The Wesleyan Media Project, which tracks campaign spending, said in a study earlier this month that between May 11 and June 28, the Trump campaign bought 50,000 ads nationwide, while the Biden campaign bought just 3,100 in the same period.

Despite Trump's ad budget advantage, the president has lost ground against Biden in public opinion polls as many Americans have soured on his handling of the coronavirus health crisis.

Biden led Trump among registered voters by 10 percentage points in a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted July 14-15.

He's back: Trump to re-up virus briefings amid lagging polls

President Donald Trump is set to once again take center stage in the federal government’s coronavirus response

WASHINGTON -- President Donald Trump is set to once again take center stage in the government's coronavirus response after a White House debate over how best to deploy its greatest and most volatile asset — him — played out in public as his poll numbers falter.

One week after a campaign shake-up, the plan is for Trump to again become a regular public presence at the podium starting Tuesday as confirmed coronavirus cases spike nationwide.

“I was doing them and we had a lot of people watching, record numbers watching in the history of cable television, and there’s never been anything like it,” Trump said. “So I think we’ll start that probably starting tomorrow, I’ll do it at 5 o’clock like we were doing — we had a good slot. A lot of people were watching.”

You can bet that it did not include a Dollar of his own money ..

Trump has given up a lot of money these last years being POTUS rather than taking care of his real estate empire. I don't mind others paying for his reelection. If it is the candidates money that pays for advertisements then just Billionairs will run//win.

Proctor and Gamble (NYSE: PG) the leading Disinfectant distributor in the USA was up from 124.82 to 126.38 on the news of POTUS renewing his smash hit The Covid-19 Task Force Show for a second wave...er....I mean season.
