Anyone pay their PEA bill using a banking app?

Depending upon my mood I pay via the PEA App, Truemoney Wallet (a handy way to bypass the 4,500 Baht credit card limit of the App) or Scan and Pay on SCB mobile banking.

All do the job just fine.

I use Kbank app for PEA, AIS topup and fibre. Never an issue. Unfortunately we are out of the country and gf deleted her Kbank app and is unable to reinstall without access to Kbank ATM, so I get to pay her bills also. ????????????

Why in the world would you opt to have to fat finger in your monthly payments online?

It takes up to two months (billing periods) to set up the direct debit and I move every two or three months.

Paying through the PEA App. does not require you to enter the payment amount, only scan a QR code.

I just tried using Bangkok Bank's app, with PEA (Chiang Mai)

Used it to scan the QR code and the 3 different barcodes on it, but it wouldn't accept them.

They have a manual option for paying MEa, put the PEA bill ref number in, no dice. ????

Does one have to register or something to pay via the Bangkok Bank app?

I use Krung Thai Bank's NEXT app to pay PEA and my Provincial water bill, PWA. Easy peasy! The PEA app requires too much information to type in each time. I have no patience for it.

Lol - you scan the paper bill .. that’s it!

but I do agree, I keep the PEA app and paper bill just incase the bank app doesn’t work.

I use PEAs web site on my PC which reverts to my Krungsri account automatically for payment and I print the receipt.

Tried the same with PWA and my account was debited but can't print a receipt and there seems no record of the payment

Because I trust Thai automatic direct debits from my bank account about as much as a Nigerian inheritance email.

What's the worst that can happen-- they bill you an extra 1 million for your Nigerian girl friend account? If you're so worried, set up an SMS alert for your payment.

No, since I do all the bill paying, I like to know things are on automatic pilot should I croak -- and that while the wife is arranging my barbecue, the lights won't be shut off due to non payment.

Yes, you can see the CA/Ref 1 on the bill. You just fill that in + the cost when paying the first bill. Then you save PEA as a favourite. Now the CA/Ref 1 will be pre-filled in automatically as well as the cost for next month when the bill is released. If it's not released there will be a message saying there's no outgoing balance. When you have paid you'll receive an email from K-Bank with all necessary info about the payment. That one you can save as a receipt.

I use the same, the QR code is so easy, though I have to wait till the day after I get the paper bill to pay.

I also take a screen shot of the confirmation screen just to be sure.

KBank app . Just scan the barcode ...easy and no charge.

No need to scan the barcode everytime if you saved the first payment as a favourite. The CA/Ref 1 No. and the cost are entered automatically when the bill is released. You just press Next and Confirm. Done.

Yes.

Or you can scan the barcode

How do you scan the QR/barcode with your phone if you are trying to install the app on your phone, please? Do you not have to switch to your Code Scanning app?

I haven't tried it yet but at the bottom of the Kasikorn app there is a scan option

I have my PEA app which shows how much I owe this month, click on pay via bank. It goes directly to my Bkk Bank app, click on YES pay it. Done, 5 seconds.

Yes , same as me, but my bill goes from the PEA app to the KBank app.  Useful if you have more than 1 electricity meter, as you can combine all meters into a single transaction/payment. Saves time & hassle.

I've setup, as with all of our utilities, a direct debit...Why in the world would you opt to have to fat finger in your monthly payments online?

Bingo. Been doing this for years and it's heaven. Using an app is a step backwards and has nothing but disadvantages. Totally stupid in my opinion. To each his own.

Quite simple really. Control over payments. I would never use a direct debit in Thailand. I only make two such payments a month which are electric and internet. Not a big deal really. I don't regard myself as a stupid person either, unlike some posters on here whose IQ appears to be less than or equal to their shoe size. As you say each to their own.
