Popular Post webfact
Red Bull heir Vorayuth asked to come clean by eight of his relatives Eight members of the billionaire Yoovidhya family issued an open letter today (Wednesday) expressing regret over the alleged mishandling of the Red Bull heir Vorayuth Yoovidhya’s fatal hit-and-run case, calling on him to come clean about what happened. They offered an apology over a member of their family having caused anger, hatred and resentment among members of the public. Since the fatal accident on Sukhumvit Road in 2012, the eight family members claimed that Mr. Vorayuth’s immediate relatives have never discussed or informed the wider Yoovidhya family about the case. Popular Post KarenBravo
No point. He'll just lie. Typical rich brat who has already shown his lack of character by running away and lack of remorse. The family should close the money tap and disown him. Popular Post ezzra
But why would he now that he has been found not culpable of any charges? if you want to make things right donate a billion or two to help people who are the victims of road accident and can get help from the government or not enough help to carry on living in dignity...

Have these family members not been reading the comments of a few select members on TV? Don’t they know that nothing will change and no one in Thailand cares. May as well quit your “whining” and just accept he’s a free man. Don’t know why officials are back-peddling, denying responsibility and asking for committees to be formed, etc. It’s as if public pressure is making a difference but it clearly isn’t as we’ve been told nothing will change. Weird, huh? 6

Popular Post yellowboat
The letter is a bit late and rings hollow. Everytime I chat with somebody that drinks that poison, I mention the hit and run case. I think everything about the product and the current family is disgusting.

Weird, huh? It's clearly they don't read Thai Visa, and certainly don't know what the majority of the Thais think about corruption. A clearly sign they don't mix with the "peasants". They shouldn't be afraid at all about the "Boss" case. Will see in a couple of days what the revision will bring. I hope I am wrong, and that finally something will change in Thailand. Addendum : It is my opinion that many Thais are not pleased at all with the Boss case. But they also know that if something change in the system in Thailand, it may also affect them, in one way or another. Not something they really wish. Popular Post DoctorG
When something is endemic to a whole society it is not just the super-elites that participate. The middle-elites want to feel special too. I dare say that it goes all the way down, with the dog catcher wanting to feel superior to the rat catcher.

It did not happen then and i dont believe its happening now. If it does it would be for a few weeks then everything forgotten. Much more likely to be upset losing face, comments in public etc. Who knows maybe deep down some of them do think like other members of the public and really dont agree with whats happening.

I don’t think your average Thai is worried the outcome of this case may set a precedent for the future that means they won’t be able to get away with vehicular manslaughter whilst under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Most sober people never plan to drive like lunatics whilst drunk and high on drugs. These poor decisions are made when your inhibitions are low due to the alcohol and drugs. You have a rather low opinion of how your average Thai compartmentalizes their thoughts.

After 20 years Thailand, and been able to rub shoulders with a lot of Thais from different social levels, I dare to say that I have a pretty fair insight of them.

Popular Post steven100
The majority of Thai's don't even care or aren't even interested in this case, they are more preoccupied with getting on with life during COVID19. Ask any thai walking along the street and it's likely he will say ' i don't care ' not my problem ' . As for this letter, it's a PR stunt ... simply that. Made up to look like the relatives are concerned. It's nothing to do with Red Bull being affected, the relatives or the company aren't affected as they still live hi-so comfortable lives. It's simply a PR stunt.

Jack Hna
This reaction may be to smooth over all the problems this ongoing matter is causing. There are plenty of payoffs which need to be investigated and they may now be realising if they don't to try to get closure this stink could do far more damage if they start investigating the attempts to cover this up.

In the meantime I consider you as one of those who like to tell a lot of things behind the anonymity of a forum. You replied to my comment initially and not the other way round. We're all free to counter each other's ideas and points. You can't just state you've lived somewhere X amount of years so you know best. If you know best, then counter it with sound arguments and logic. Not merely posturing. My opinions on this case are very simple. The more we condemn it and keep it in the spotlight; the more officials and the Red Bull Family have to squirm and lose face. See, the Red Bull rat may well be able to just waltz back into Thailand without any charges laid upon him, but you can bet your last dollar he won't be doing something like this ever again. You can also bet any other spoilt brats might be thinking twice about this sort of beahviour. And that to me is effective change. This is a positive outcome. And no, I have zero desire to go to any police station to express my opinions. The people involved in this case have dropped the remaining charges and haven't even explained why. Let them explain why they dropped the charges first. I'm the kind of person who likes to counter bad ideas with good ideas. This mentality is typically despised by people who don't have good ideas and don't want to be called out for it.
