Buying The Sierra Wireless Card

Featured Replies

Hi All

I am going to be purchasing the Sierra Wireless card tomorrow and just wanted to see what the latest was on pricing and the best deal for it?

I know this information was posted several months ago, however I believe some pricing changes were going to be coming into effect around now and just want to make sure I minimise that initial several thousand baht outlay for the actual card.

So where would be the best place to get it, and do I need my passport to get connected and setup/purchase it?

I was 12k something a month or two back from CAT..

I couldnt get a straight answer from them about if they would activate / turn on / connect a second hand one or change someone elses cAT account into my name and address.. Figured if I went this way that just buying from CAT was the easiest solution.. Then again I do tend to want to take the path of least resistance if its only a couple of k difference.

i paid 12800 baht in CAT Samui in February, got 3 free months then 630 a month. Put it in the wifes name and she did need her ID card so i guess they will want a passport from a farang. works well in the long run it is cheaper than tot and tt&t. You can use it anywhere in Thailand except Bangkok as Hutch have the monopoly there, but they have come to an agreement to share it in the future

The old Sierra 580 card is out of production now. The company are replacing it with the new 595 which has a much better/faster spec.

Cat Telecom may still have the 580 card availiable for their CDMA network at 15,990 Baht.

Dont need a WP if you have a non imm O.. And that 15990 price has been discounted..

Odd thing is they wanted 12800 and it was then 590 baht a month (maybe the 630 is VAT included) ??
