The government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said today (August 19) that it wants the emergency decree to be extended for another month, or until September 30.

Army deputy commander and CCSA representative General Natthaphon Nakaphanich said a centre subcommittee will to propose to a higher panel that the emergency decree be extended.

Natthaphon gave an assurance that the decree will not affect people’s lives, and political assembly can continue.

He said the decree allowed the government to exercise some laws that are not covered under the Communicable Disease Act.

Natthaphon said the Covid-19 situation in Thailand was getting better and better, thanks to the public. However, he added that though the coronavirus could be detected in 14 days in patients, it could go undetected for up to 30 days.

He mentioned that the Army has talked informally to the CCSA about 237 soldiers who will return from South Sudan in September. These returnees will be sent to state quarantine, he added.

It does appear that they are on the monthly women's cycle.  No menopause for the CCSA, and I believe with a resurgence of worldwide Covid Cases and then the entrance of the documented migrant workers they are in fear.

What exactly are Thai soldiers doing in South Sudan...besides getting infected by the virus, that is?

Instead of sending (infected) Egyptian soldiers to Thailand, why not let them deal with their neighbor of South Sudan?

Are soldiers now travelling the world with the aim of replacing the moribund mass tourism?

Just a kindly reminder of the generals to the people not to forget to excessively panic about Covid. Cultivate the Thai paranoia about Covid!

How convenient to charge students not keeping social distancing during demonstrations then. How convenient to blame foreigners to be guilty on the Covid disaster in the world, and to have a reason to keep the borders closed, in order to have the number of foreign observers in the country as low as possible when the shootings start and during they transform the system into a more absolutist one.

It is a UN Mission, largely run by India but with contributors from many nations,

It is worth noting that the UN pays well (in US Dollars) for these contributions.

I wonder...

I think the ministers running the CCSA need o find a reason to wind up all of Lil Fatties watches he has borrowed and they need to the end of September to wind them all up...

Maybe Uncle Tu asked the CCSA to ask him to do this so he can't be blamed for extending the Emergency Decree.

Nailed it!

Absolutely no reason what so ever to extend a state of emergency any longer.

No domestic infections for 85 days and all incoming flights or border crossings are monitored and people sent to quarantine.

This is complete BS

no complete dick tatorship

The country is in extreme danger...there is no time to waste.

We urgently need to extend the emergency decree. Swift action must be taken to neutralize the threat and prevent the apocalypse...

But don't worry...it won't affect anyone.

We promise.
