There is no cure for HIV, there is no cure for the Flu, there is no cure for the common cold. HOWEVER THERE ARE TREATMENTS. Further you are exhibiting exactly the response I was referring to when I posted why the hysteria. You act as though if you catch Covid 19 that it is a death sentence. The reality is that over 99% of people who catch it, recover and most with no hospitalization. Those older and with pre-existing health conditions are the ones most at risk to have severe life threatening responses to Covid.
PumpkinEater
Media! In the USA its an election year. Watch CNN and we are all doomed to die (change the Pres.) Watch Fox news and all is hunky dory and the savior is D J Trump, (printing money and stealing like crazy) BTW both parties love and enhance the division as it pulls in support ($$) from their bases. While the virus is real to the unhealthy... This has turned into curruption at its best. Fear is a powerful tool being used Unfortunately the TH Gov...is frozen in fear. Who knows? Without the prompt action by the Chinese (not Thais) in stopping Chinese visitors coming to Thailand the situation could have been much worse. Prompt action by China. You are joking. China knew about this in Dec 2019 and started locking down their cities to domestic travel but kept international flights operating until March until countries like Italy started banning flights from China.
Shaunduhpostman
HIV and tuberculosis are only mainly a problem in the 3rd world, I'm pretty sure I saw that 80% of the world tuberculosis cases are in India and of course Africa is where HIV is mostly hitting, so the Euro-american centered health authorities don't care. I would also say that Thailand feels they had better go along with the rest of the world and act like COVID19 is such terrible thing, there is no doubt a lot of pressure on any country who wants to just say no thank you to the lockstep march to one world government. It is just not the thing to do in Thailand to take a stand and tell Tedros et al, "The WHO is not my father!"

Ericthai, 50% of the deaths in the USA were people infected in nursing homes because inept state governors forced patients with Covid back to their residence despite the likelihood they would infect others. Here is Sweden WHO DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Their death rate per million is about the same as Belgium which imposed strict lock downs. It is actually less than Spain who also imposed Thai like lock down measures. Mansell
It is so easy to blow it off as people panicking or over reacting. But in New York the bodies were being stacked up outside in refrigerated trucks. You don’t see that with any of the things you referenced. You are in Thailand....we either got lucky, or the government did a good job, (unlikely based on their other behaviors) or God likes Thai and Vietnamese and NZ people. This Covid will be around until the Spirit on High releases a treatment onto the planet. Be grateful you haven’t been infected by this lurking death. Read about young people who were mildly infected but lost their smell and taste...but not completely. Now their food tastes and smells like either paint or rotting garbage, and one woman vomits at the smell of toothpaste....and they don’t know if this will ever change. Others have had deleterious muscle and joint reactions. Whatever way you look at this Covid, it isn’t fun, or close to fun. Be glad it seems to be passing us by.....for now. Popular Post ukrules
I've been busy reading lately and it appears that something eerily similar to the current situation started to spread all around the world in late 1889. It had many 'waves' and lasted for about 4 years - this is what they fear - a long drawn out repeating process of repeated exposure. Medicine was pretty undeveloped back in the late 1800's and the majority of practicing 'doctors' had learned theories which are very different from what we now know about. The papers had already been written about the likes of Anthrax being producable on demand from the bacteria but that was largely written off as being irrelevant by almost all of them, they didn't understand what it meant in the grand scheme of things. Anyway, in 1889 they deemed what happened as 'just the flu' and that stuck despite there being zero proof of what it was that caused the disease along with the 1 million plus deaths around the world because they didn't know what a virus was. Fast forward more than 120 years to the early 2000's and someone did a genetic analysis of OC43 (one of the common colds) comparing it to a known similar bovine virus (its origin) they calculated when it jumped species based on the mutation rate. The date they came up with - ~1890. Now we already know there was a massive world wide pandemic at this same time, it was known as 'Russian Flu', it started in December 1889 and lasted for about 4 years with multiple massive waves that swept the world. If you do some research of old publications, many of which appear to be locked away behind academic institutions paywalls (but not all of them) you can find accounts written by the doctors of the day fully describing symptoms right down to loss of taste which seem to be remarkably similar to those of COVID patients. I suspect this was a 'new cold' scenario and it stuck around, is still present now and we've almost certainly all had it they call it OC43 and it causes a large percentage of 'common colds' considering there's 100's of cold viruses this one punches above its weight in terms of percentages of infections noticed, What's happening now is I believe the birth of a new cold. It's happened before - the above appears to be the most recent example of this. Before the end of the 1800's an epidemic of this size could have easily passed unnoticed as things were pretty dire back then. Why are the governments acting in the way they are? They know all of the above already and have access to archived records going back 100's of years and they all know exactly what to expect. I don't think anyone has asked them why they expect it to last years and what they're basing it on but I suspect the above is the answer. 2

The states didn't force anyone into Nursing homes!! Nursing homes are where people that have chronic conditions or have physical issues that they cant take care of themselves. The govt did mandate that the nursing homes to close down and not allow any visitors. Of course a nursing home will have a higher death rate as most of the residents already have chronic conditions. I'd rather die of the thing than have to put up with all the mania for years because the vaccine ( if it even happens ) isn't going to save us all, IMO. So what are the governments of other countries such as Australia and the U.K. using Covid as an excuse for? In those countries people are and have been facing more stringent restrictions than in Thailand, I haven’t heard of the police in Thailand fining people quite substantial amounts of money for breaching restrictions as has happened in the above countries. In NSW in Australia the government was proposing prison sentences of up to six months for breaching restrictions. I think you are suffering from a clear case of paranoia.
