Siam Chon News reported on Facebook that Pornchai Sang-iat, a Banglamung official, joined with police inspector Pol Maj-Gen Chainarong Chai-in of the Pattaya constabulary and health officials in ensuring that entertainment venues were observing Covid-19 protocols to the letter on Sunday night.

They did a tour of Walking Street and Sai 3.

They were also looking out for underage drinking, weapons and drug use.

But they found nothing untoward and all the establishments were obeying the law.

Temperature checks were being made, people were wearing masks, there was social distancing, gels were on hand and the Thai Chana tracing app was being used.

What a laugh they certainly didn't visit the disco I was in. Only one of 3 of us gave a phone number as we went in. No hand sanitizer or temperatures were taken and nobody was signed out at 3.30 am.

So very sad.

Previous thread states that Pattaya is dying so the BIB's carry out a 'tour of compliance' on empty bars.

I had also heard that some of the previous compliance measures had been removed (screens between dancers and patrons)...........If Thailand is indeed Covid free this is not necessary, and the border efforts are the important thing. Are all workers coming in from Myanamar and Cambodia tested and quarantined..... somehow doubt it.

The irrelevant trying to be relevant by irrelevant photo ops. The real danger is on the roadways.

Has anyone seen any mobile, traffic units pulling over the reckless vehicles, speeding scooters and overloaded pickups with workers packed in the bed?

Pathetic showboating at best.

This because 2 thing

1) the DJ positive. Everyone start relax, not follow the rule, now have problem.

2) India have 90,000 positive 1 day!

india have border together Burma. Same thailand.

Ranong Governor tell everyone “high alert” again yesterday.

Safety first.

Everybody please work together.

Wear mask, use app, wash hand, social distance.

Thankyou your corporation.

Which is why "Pattaya: Grim picture for future of resort as post pandemic optimism dries up" and "Pattaya: Thai media reports a busy long weekend but posters fear reality come Tuesday" are now the New Normal.

Yes it used to be difficult just dodging the Chinese herds, Indian gawping groups, and the other fellow drinkers going between venues. Now we got drunk drivers in the mix, and likely some just as dangerous, relatively sober, local ones!
