If you have it in you to do some research you might find that what Trump promised before election was mostly done.

No all of it because if the Chinese Wuhan Virus and the idiotic experts governments had to rely on because the bloody Chinese refused to tell anything.

The economic downturn was not started by this government but was brewing already before the (intentional) release of the virus by China.

Rather shortsighted to blame governments for reacting as they did on advices from "experts".

Blame China!

I beg to differ on so many pointers to begin with. Where do i start? Wuhan Virus seems the best bet.For the :intelligent folks" as this case may be i might add,WHO has declared that the virus didn't originate from China but otherwise.

It's already happened, but behind the scenes.  A person who needs oblique references to Harry Potter has already taken control, we're just being distracted by a puppet show.

At last, someone else who knows what's going on in Thailand.

The current commander of the army is a big talker, complains about people's lack of nationalism and does not seem to be coup material.

And who might that be?

The next PM ????

This is not the first time I’ve heard rumors of a coup. I heard an obscure rumor about one a few years ago but I think it was proven false I don’t recall.

I thought in 2014 he said he wouldn't do a coup and if he did do a coup it would be illegal. Now the uk Government says it will break the law the problem seems to be spreading.

As Julius Cesar said "Et Tu Brutus".  Makes me wonder who will be the last to put in the knife and cut him out of the Government.

Strictly, "Et tu, Brute" as the name is expressed in the vocative rather than the nominative. Makes a change from talking about tits in Walking Street, anyway.

Hmm, perhaps we should consider that if the army is going to have a coup against itself then it is unlikely that it will be moderates doing so, more likely hard liners that think things are too soft and want to see a hard man in charge.

Or, I wonder, if certain people are just fed up with the job? They might arrange it with someone so that they have an excuse to escape from something they created. Phoney exile with (secret) accrued millions offshore. I've no evidence of that, it's just a thought.

Unelected "leaders" are extremely rarely better than the ones they replace. With the next coup the direction is likely still downwards, until democracy is finally, if ever, found by the youth.

Completely agree. Our Western democracies have proven to be no such thing, so not much hope for TH.

A coup by who, exactly? The army, deposing him? He deserves that. Most of the army leadership likely realizes the stunning lack of leadership the nation faces, at this time.

But, who is behind Prayuth? And how do they feel? The students deposing the army? A very sweet dream. The people kicking out the army? Long overdue. They are despised like never before.

I would fine his assurances of there being no coup more comforting, if he hadn’t said nearly the same thing before the last coup.

What do you mean?    Your comments seem to reflect a different Thailand .....   numbers don't lie.

Thailand handled the COVID19 crisis very well as there were minimal cases or deaths, unlike other countries that skyrocketed.

Thailand had an increase of GPD year on year since Khun Prayut Chan O Cha came to office in 2014.

Thailands government spending on infrastructure rose more year on year since Khun Prayut came to office.

Khun Prayut implemented more projects in the last 5 years than predecessors tried to do in 10 years.
