Finland's joining NATO seems like a spectacularly bad idea.  It completes NATO's encirclement of the bear which George H. W. Bush had promised Gorbachev would not happen.  Given that Russia, lacking major geographical obstacles, has always been especially susceptible to invasion, it seems foolishly aggressive to be expanding NATO after the collapse of the Warsaw Pact.  NATO should have been disbanded at that point, not enlarged.

 

Finland does seem to have had especially capable leaders from Mannerheim to Niinisto.  They managed Covid pretty well with only 61 deaths per million.
