Popular Post rooster59
Deputy PM Wissanu discusses supervision of law enforcement Praphorn Praphornkul BANGKOK(NNT)-In the current political climate, demonstrators are voicing opposition to law enforcement and seeking openness to listen to their pleas, while the difference in political views and opinions between the younger and older generations has become a talking point nation wide. The Deputy Prime Minister, Prof. Dr. Wissanu Krea-ngam, delivered a speech on law enforcement techniques of supervisors at an event to mark the 114th anniversary of the Judge Advocate General’s Department, saying all supervisors must listen to all sides. Prof. Dr. Wissanu said that all those in supervisory positions in the civil, police, state, independent and political agencies must adhere to three legal principles. They must respect the law and listen to both their subordinates and superiors, to help them make informed decisions. The Deputy Prime Minister said the Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, is following these principles while exercising his power. He will hold discussions with related units, and individuals with expertise or different perspectives, before making decisions. Law enforcement has to take several factors into consideration, including points of view, righteousness, human rights, principles of good governance and the rule of law. -- © Copyright NNT 2020-09-13 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

Scott Tracy
Sorry, the 3 legal principles are....? Obey the law, ok, that I understand. The others, not too sure they are legal principles. Surely supervision of law enforcement comes down to political will? Who appoints the law enforcers? There seems to be a hierarchy, that is self fulfilling, rather than being properly reviewed at the national level. Who is the most suitable and qualified person to run the organisation rather than who is next in line.... Is there an independent review body that oversees police and law enforcement activity?
