Three more illegal immigrants from Myanmar were arrested on Tuesday night for trespassing into Thailand via the river near Ban Mae Ku Mai Tha Sung village in Tak province despite a ban on crossing the border.

All three had no official documents containing their actual names. They accidentally encountered the soldiers who were patrolling the border.

They confessed to Thai authorities that they crossed several times into Thailand from the Myanmar town of Myawaddy and this was the first they were caught.

Immigration Bureau officers detained them for legal action.

Ban Mae Ku Mai Tha Sung village is an area that Chinese and Myanmar nationals come through after crossing illegally into Thailand and locals have warned that some people on the Thai side have helped bring the illegal immigrants across.
