Ministry discounts 13,000 household items to cut cost of living

The Commerce Ministry has reduced the prices of more than 13,000 household goods under the seventh round of monthly discounts to help cut the cost of living for people during the Covid-19 crisis.

The government-subsidised discounts began in April under a collaboration with manufacturers, distributors and shops nationwide.

Products in six categories are discounted: Food and beverages; frozen cooked food; sauces; daily-use products; soaps and body cleansers; and washing products.

Prices on a total 13,790 items have been cut, with maximum discounts of 70 per cent on cleaning goods such as detergent, liquid soap and hand sanitiser.

The seventh round of discounts will run through November and is expected to cut a total Bt500 million off the price of daily items.

How is the ministry monitoring that these discounted prices are passed on to the customer? And what happens to retailers who don't offer these discounts?

Silly question, the list is top secret, only those in the know have any access to it.

Has nothing to do with the government. If you shopped more than 600 Baht you got such stickers 4 times and you have to use them until November 8th. Today is the last day to get such stickers - theoretically. I was told that this promotion was so successful that they run out of stickers and so you can't get them anymore.

Wow ! Where did you get that from ?

It has been reported elsewhere that The Mall Group are very pleased with this shopping spree government discount subsidy scheme as it has boosted their sales. Nice to know that someone is benefiting.

Where can I order this butter from?  We go to 3 mum and pop cooking supply shops in Phichit and I have never seen it.  Seems to be a big price difference between salted and un-salted???

PS: Saw the other post with the Pattaya address.
