trying to explain to a cave man how a computer works?

Sure, teach the caveman to find restaurant reviews and then try explaining what a restaurant is... and where to find one in the future...

Both of my parents died from/with dementia

If I cannot function independently or feel I am a burden on others

My sympathies as I also had 2 dementia parents and it was a nightmare... though they, as many, they would have previously said - just shoot me - nobody can shoot them...

And the dementia was gradual and at no time did either realize they had it... sort of a toast until it burns then 2 seconds less. You can't do that.

it is not easy to find a vet here who will execute this humane approach.

start showing early symptoms of alzheimers

check out the 7 stages of alz... I think we are born into stage 2... and from what i saw in taking care of my parents, they can fluctuate in and out of 3 stages in the course of a day or moments... this is not easy... not sure what the green stuff is but by the time you are ready to indulge it, you likely will not remember what it is...  though whatever it is, I want some too!

NO! NO fear of death.  Remember: nobody gets out alive, death is guaranteed.  Were you afraid of being born?  Death is normal....enjoy life, your Thai wife, and Thailand.

I believe we are a collective of atoms roaming an organic spaceship that is just floating around the sun.

I think that what most people fear is not death itself and neither process of dying. But rather missing the great things that life brings, and most likely the bad ones too. Essentially not being you anymore and becoming once again the "nonexistence" that you once were before you "came to life".  At least for the majority of Western people...

As OP mentions, I've also observed that Asians (both Thai and Chinese), seem to think of death - at least "natural death" - as something which is bound to happen, and they just ignore it, without letting that fact bother them at all.

Anyway, try to make the most of every single moment of life. What we all can agree is that life is too short! Make the most out of it and don't let the fear of death overwhelm you! (But beware of reckless things which may bring you closer to it ????)

Very true,
Science fiction writers, from Verne to Kubiak have predicted the future with alarming accuracy, from submarines, spaceships to AI,

This is probably on the verge of being allowed or not but there is a whole range of drugs or other ways to make the end come quick.

Painless.

Hope they are not the ones they use for the Lethal Jobbie in USA !    LOL

The process of dying is the problem. If one could choose the method and moment it would be a great deal simpler but governments seem opposed to this.

Euthanasia should become legal everywhere .

There are a lot of still conscious people who are simply not allowed to die .

That is like a punishment .

But for what crime ?

Yea, well , when the mechanic tells you your big ends gone, they probably won't be making them any more and you will be toast unless you can convert your Duke to batteries.

If you could just trade your worn out old body for a smart new one it would be splendid.

It  is possible to go a bit less messy, and still keep your boots on.

Not necessery to feed heroic passings with clips like this, and sure there is quite a few on TV thinking of ending their lives right now. So please no motorbike, car, jumping, hanging themselves with long ropes outside buildings. There is better ways to go.

Some will even make it very well with dobbel dose of viagra, vodka redbull and a hot lady of preference.

Dr. Greg Fahy of Intervene Immune gave a presentation about his company’s Phase 1 human trials in which the thymus, a critical organ of the immune system, was regenerated through a combination of existing drugs, restoring immune function and causing epigenetic biomarkers to show rejuvenation.

I have given this some thought, although not a lot..  The guess that the 'trick' is to take the tablets and the whisky over a period of hours, maybe up to 6. Then you get to enjoy the experience as well as achieve the main aim.  If brave, you could also watch an NFL game to see what you will be missing, or a game of football so that you can also bore yourself to death at the same time.

Well if you picture it that way, you will damage your internal organs and wake up with a huge hangover.

Death is not romantic and pills is deff not a good way to go.

Sounds like a plan! Very doable in Thailand. I've been trying to commit suicide, at least once per week, for years

Dont worry, you will finely make it, keep up the good hard work and you will succeed.

That is one of the best slow motion suicides I can think of.

I have a couple of friends eating and drinking themselves to death, horrible to watch

I have no problems with it, just worried someone will get ideas and think it is a good way out, and it is not! It is a forum yes, and we do not know who is reading in the other end.
