2 Year driving Licence renewal for a Thai.

Featured Replies

Thai GF's first driving licence (2 year one) is about to expire. She has asked me what she needs to take along to the DMV to do the renewal. Location Samui.

I doubt the requirements are the same as for a foreigner.

Does anyone know what they are?

I told her to take her passport and ID card,  and maybe a bill as proof of address.

Will she need  a medical certificate?

TIA

When I did mine 3 months ago in Chiang Mai, did

not need a medical certificate, same for my daughter

who renewed 2 weeks ago also Chiang Mai, who knows

about what your local office needs,

Maybe you should say where you intend to renew, then

maybe someone who has done it there can advise you.

Thanks

I did have to chuckle at this post. A Thai asking a farang how to renew her licence!

Anyway, my wife did hers  2 years ago and it was tabian ban, medical cert, ID and the expiring licence. It took all of 30 minutes.
