There is no Dr. Charempong, do you mean Dr. Charuspong?

https://www.bumrungrad.com/en/doctors/Charuspong-Dissaranan

I find it extremely difficult to persuade people to travel to Bangkok for care. Even the Pattaya folks - for whom it is just a 3 hour ride - tend to resist this. Often to their detriment.

There was previously a very good urologist in CM but he unfortunately retired.

Of course it's Charuspong Sheryl.

A great doctor

I'm at 7 at the moment and hoping recent 'events' (pain/poor urine flow) are related to a transient infection, frequent sex and excessive exercise.

Hopefully you have avoided strenuous exercise and sex for at least 48-hours before having your PSA tests, because they can affect the PSA results (see link attached to this post).

My friend was also told this by his specialist.

You say you are hoping that the high result might be related to a transient infection, but surely you have had this treated??

Going to send you a PM.

That is something that I have lost all interest in since I got sick with these prostate issues unfortunately ☹️

However, I suppose that if I don't think about it, I obviously don't miss it, so nature In a way is being kind to me, or maybe it's getting older and I wouldn't miss it now, even if I was well????

I'm now 66, does anyone know approximately what age you stop wanting/ thinking about sex?

Although I never fail to spot a pretty lady????

Good luck Pauly, and catheters and the bags are a source of UTIs, but nothing that can't be cured by a course of antibiotics.

He is also a very pleasant person to both patients and hospital staff.  I had bladder removal by him a few years ago when he worked at Bangkok Hospital.  Believe you are in good hands.

Bladder removal...OMG...didn't even know that was a thing!!!

A radical cystectomy is done in an attempt to cure your cancer that has invaded the bladder wall or has come back following initial treatment, or has a high chance of spreading.

In my case it was in wall.  Then there are various methods used to remove urine - being older I chose the old standard ileal conduit which requires urostomy bag but not that much of an issue for complications.  A rather long operation removing and creating but it works and drainage bags do eliminate night trips to the bathroom.  ????

Saw this doctor a couple of months ago for my BPH. Very impressed.

Just had him remove my catheter and I have been able to pee????.

I had been paranoid thinking I would have to self catheterise, and fingers crossed( and I have been presumptuous before) I won't have to.

I'm still here 5 hours after as I have a very painful prostate and the doc is performing an operation.

I think it maybe that the tube has antagonized it is what I think.

They gave me a <deleted> of Pethadine, that helped for a while, but the pain is better, don't think I will need to stay here for Christmas,. The challenge will be getting to the other side of Bangkok on Christmas Eve at 5pm????

Again - I feel rather like a broken record - ask the doctor to prescribe phenazopyridine.

And take some sodium biocab or buy some Uralyt.

When the urine is less acidic it is less painful.

Back to hospital this morning in a lot of pain.

It suddenly came on as I was in the car. My normal dose of morphine is not helping so I called the hospital and the doctor doubled it.

I managed to sleep from 11-3 and then I took another double dose which is starting to wear off now but I will have to put up with it till I get to hospital.

I'm so frustrated, what is wrong with me, every time I have a cystocopy everything is fine for a few days then it all goes wrong

☹️☹️

Apparently I have a small infection, but my Doctor cannot find the source of my pain and thinks that it may well be a neuropathic problem, which is like the end of my world.

It's the same pain I had before, makes sense now that nobody could work out what it was.

The pain doctor has doubled my dosage of Lyrics and I am staying in hospital while the a/b's are given to me via a drip, but I am not hopeful of any kind of meaningful life anymore if I have to put up with this for the rest of it.

Last resort after all meds, (unless someone knows different) is a pain block. How effective that is I have no idea, but it's a rotten place to see out what had been an awful year for both me and my wife☹️☹️

At the risk of being too empathetic, that sounds awful.

I hope they can do something ...quickly.....hard to believe in this day and age you should have to suffer in this way.

Nerve block is a possibility if they can isolate exactly which nerve is causing the problem.

Start with a diagnostic ultrasound guided lidocain pudendal nerve block. If it temporarily relieves the pain, try inject steroids for longer duration or possibly surgical intervention

This morning I am finding that my urether is itching a lot and looks very red.

I will show the doctor this morning, maybe I have an external infection, possibly from wearing diapers.

If that was the case and it's not a neurpathic issue that would be fantastic, but I'm not holding my breath yet

Admitted to hospital since Tuesday, Pain in my urether is intolerable.

Pee test showed I have a small infection, but the pain is way more than that so I am on Pethadine every 6 ;hours

I have discussed this with the pain doctor, She wants me on something not so strong, but I have tried everything else and nothing works right now.

My Urologist came again this morning after I had supplied another pee speciman and said the infection had got worse, so he sent for the infections doctor, he examined me and said he thinks I have chronic prostitis, which I have always said I had.

He has put me on stronger antibiotics and will see how I am tomorrow.

I am now a bit concerned that I will get through this ordeal, it's been going on over a year and seems to be reaching a climax.

Just glad that I am in a good hospital with competent doctors .

My brain is not functioning right because of all the meds, I don't remember that I had already posted that I was in hospital and I had also had some replies.

My apologies for that.

I mentioned to my urologist about a scan and he said that a scan or MRI would not tell him anything new.

The nerve block they say is a last resort, but if this does not get better In fee days I will have to have it

Do you not have a catheter?

No. I had a procedure this morning to check the amount of urine remaining in my bladder after a pee and the nurse said that a catheter was unnecessary for me

I had a TURP procedure and many TOV's but in they end they concluded my bladder no longer pumps and applied a catheter, had very few problems for the past year, just the inconvenience of the bag.

But I have to push my pee out now, the doc said I should not do that. So I have to stand waiting for it to come out into some vessel that looks like a hat, then the nurse comes to check it and dispose of it for some reason
