The Fish Marketing Organisation has tightened measures at its piers nationwide to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, organisation director Montien Innoi said.

This follows the report of 12 new domestic cases of the virus, which were reportedly related to a 67-year-old woman in Samut Sakhon province, who tested positive for Covid-19 on December 18. The woman ran a seafood shop in a prawn market in Mahachai subdistrict.

He added that the organisation had already sent a letter to staffers at piers to strictly follow the measures of preventing the communicable diseases, including the Covid-19 virus.

The organisation would also work closely on the matter with other state agencies, he added.

looks no further than the photo of the Nation in the article, and see how much a joke this whole "seriousness" is, Thai style.

for easy reference, highlighted some no mask and wrong wearing to forego some 'defemation' ????

This is called shutting the door after the seahorse has bolted. It beggars belief that thousands of disease carriers from Myanmar were even allowed to enter the country and work in such markets. At best it smacks of the authorities being complacent at worst it means they were complicit in encouraging such risky employment practices. The medical authorities have been exemplary in their stewardship of this country, the pseudo junta has been totally incapable of managing anything whatsoever.

Only a short while ago, the Government were arranging all kinds of Visa Extensions Etc for these people to continue working in Thailand.

Many of these people were , and have been in Thailand for a long time now

This has nothing to do with ' Risky Employment Practices ", but has everything to do with Government and Business always looking to exploit these immigrant people in search of profits

Greed is the problem. If Thais were paid to do this work, there would be no need for Thousands of Immigrant labourers in the Country, who are working for low money in poor conditions.
