Pompous BS!

French cuisine changed dramatically, IME, in the last decade. Much more fast foods, convenience foods etc. Even read articles saying many bakeries were struggling because the French demand for bread had decreased dramatically.

Main difference being in French McDonald's you can buy wine and beer. Very healthy.

Shoveling down all that wine, foie gras, rich sauces and cheese must be fantastically healthy. And smoking still seems much more common there than UK or Germany.

French cuisine, like the French language, is a quaint thing of the past in world relevance!

You are partly right. It's amazing how junk food has become popular in France. The comparison with another food heaven, namely Italy, is enlightening.

However, it doesn't equally affect all categories of the population. Good restaurants and good shops are still full of customers.

I guess the English breakfast will be the first to go. I love British food, but no one pretends that it's healthy. Banning fish and chips is not going to save any lives.

When the british were under eu regulations re fishing, fish and chips was a delicacy due to its high price, not a staple diet item ad it had been before.

Yes good old fish and chips! First introduced to the British by a Jewish immigrant, Joseph Malin,  in 1860.  The concept then picked up in the north of the country three years later by John Lees!  The rest is history!

only an outdated Englishman still believes that the French eat frogs' legs.

I've seen them frozen in several supermarkets in Paris. That said the Chinese seem to eat way more frogs; there are even bullfrog restaurant chains ????

Early immigrants contributed a lot to the uk,they came,a lot of them feeing persecution and oppression and embraced the british way of lives and customs, worked hard and bought their kids up properly, not like today.
